    Buff Orpington gender opinions/help?

5 week old buff Orpingtons! Daisy and ducky. Dasiy seems to be bigger than the other, bigger comb, and longer tail. Ducky has less pink in her comb and a shorter tail. Do I have a boy on my hands? Thank you for your knowledge.

New Chick Owner - Sick Americauna

Ok, so I'm a BRAND NEW chick mama. Never before owned an animal that was not a dog, cat, or fish! Our first day in we lost one of our 10 Buff Orpington's. Tiny was about 1 week old and it was traumatizing for me. 6 hours after getting her home she just died...I think she was stressed from her...

    Opinions on gender? Buff Orpingtons!

3 week old buff Orpington, Daisy. I have 2 and they both have combs coming in. Didn’t get 2nd photo because Ducky isn’t as friendly. I’ve looked at full grown hens and they have a small comb, but is there any chance this could be a indication of a cockerel? Thank you!!!

What breed? Was I sold the wrong chick?!

Short version: Please identify these chicks! Long version: I asked for 3 Barred Rock Pullets from Tractor Supply and went home with them. The next day I visited another Tractor Supply location and saw that two of my "Barred Rocks" looked like their chicks that were labeled "Sussex." I showed...

Can anyone help me identify these hens?? I’ve had them since chicks, and they were “supposed” to be speckled Sussex (though the one I knew for sure was a Sussex sadly didn’t make it). These birds have no white speckles but have not yet molted. I have three of them - from Murray McMurray. My...

Hey y'all. I have wanted chickens forever and my county ordinance just changed so my dreams could come true. What’s going on with my Buff Orphington?

The other day I noticed my buff Orpington hen was huddled by herself while the rest of the flock foraged around. I went over to investigate and noticed she had a pale comb. She won’t eat, she won’t drink and she’s barely moves. She is separated from the rest of the flock until I can figure out...
