Muscovy Setup and Rat Snake Safety

Early this may I had 5 tiny muscovies ducklings. After I lost two, I put a large dog crate in my room that I keep the ducks in from 8:30pm-10:00am. During the day the ducklings are released into the duck run to frolic until the sun starts setting, rinse and repeat. I've kept this up for a couple...

Python sneaking into duck cage. Will it kill my ducks?

So, it’s 1 am here in Australia. And I am awoken to one of my Australian call ducks being really loud. I got outside to check on them and see nothing, I go back inside and the quacking stops. identify?

found this guy/girl in my chicken yard this morning. Not good with snakes. Any idea what kind? I have managed to catch it and put it in a big bucket for my husband to deal with later. It's small, I looked for more or a nest or egg shells but didn't find any. Just wondering what I had in there.

My First Chicken Coop/Run and How I'm Building a Better, Bigger Coop for New Baby Chick Arrival

I got the chicks before the eggs! This will be my second year of raising chicks. I got five 2 week old chicks from TSC last year on a whim - no supplies yet except the pine flake, feeder, waterer, and feed I got the same day. Put them all in a big cardboard box on the porch (one of them died...

Black Racers (snakes) in the coop!

Hi All, I just shooed away the fourth black racer this month! They are usually in the egg box with an egg or two already inside them, and they never touch the hens/vice versa. The coop is very old and no matter how much i patch it up they always find their way back in. We are building a new...
