I wish it would snow here!!! LoL rain is all we get, ah well. It's not raining right now though, just got in from letting the girls out

I am kinda sad today though, I am giving one of my chickens to a friend and always get sad when I rehome an animal, no matter what the circumstances hehe. This girl I am rehoming is a bully to a few of my hens, and I only have 5 total and now my girl is going to a BIG flock with LOTS of handsom boys, so hopefully she will be happier

Here are a few pictures of the beautiful (but attitude galore) girl LOL she is a diva.

Thank you! She is so pretty but that's about all she has going for her at this time. She has been a constant harasser to my Easter Egger, and just recently started being bratty toward my newly laying splash wyandotte. I live in an urban area, and have a small flock of 5 including this girl, who's name is Phoebe. I don't have the room or size flock I think she would do best with, and I really think she needs to get laid ahem lol. She is going to a flock with a good amount of boyo's and hopefully that will chill her out. She has not laid yet, and is around 8 months now. She really is a pretty girl, but the Easter Egger was here waaaay before, so I have to send Phoebe packing.

The person she is going to has a good sized property and lots of chickens, plus all the chickens are DEARLY loved, which I am really happy with

she is too pretty to be treated badly, or end up on the dinner table (THOUGH SHE WAS VERY CLOSE LOL)

Once she is gone I hope my Easter Egger will relax (she has been stressed over Phoebe for a while now). Poor Munk (EE). It will be good all around the table! And after I get my 6x8 ft coop I will be acquiring one or two new pullets from the friend who is taking Phoebe, bringing my total hen head count to 6 max.

She really is very pretty.

Although it just goes to show looks really can be deceiving!

And I'm sure she will be happy and it's for the best for her, from you described her future habitat to be like at your friend's place. Plus, not only are you doing what's best for your own flock, but you're also doing a nice thing by giving her to your friend, especially if they love chickens, too!

And I understand that despite the situation, it can still be hard to give her up. It's so easy to get attached to chickens, even if you try not to!

Good luck to your hen and congrats on the one or two new pullets you will be receiving in trade for her.

That it is that it is! I just wish I could explain to her "Alright, we are going for a car ride, and you are meeting some new friends." I hate the transport part lol

It will be good though, and then my flock of 4 can settle in their new coop and stuff. What sort of things do you guys use for roosts? I will be adding roosts to the coop, and was going to use 2x4's with the wide side up. I am excited for the new coop
