«We Could Be Legends»

"yeah she practically told me. She said I have my own group of friends they let me join them. But they want to know an awful lot about you and your Friends. So I gave them information like their names, addresses, and information about their skills. They are nice. Unlike YOU. who else would want to know? It is a HUGE what if though" Ella said
"Your sister?" Sherri asked. "Boy, I want to punch her right now." She gave a weak punch to a blue satin pillow. Then she buried her face in it. Any kind of waiting made her bored and anxious, and lasagna took 50 minutes a long time for her.

"Can I stay the night Sherri? I don't wanna get killed in the middle of the night by my sister!" Ella laughed scared but trying to make the scene better. "She can Teleport though. that might be a problem!"

"sometimes she is the exact Opposite of me." Ella sighed

(Sherri)
"Yeah, especially since she's really good at it."
Neither Peter (or whatever his name was) nor Ella were as good at teleportation as her sister. (Gotta give the villains more power than the heroes.)

here are the Zion Delilah posts as a refresher for anyone that needs them.

Zion shifts back into his human form once Delilah walks in the library, he steps inside himself making sure not to get spotted.

Zion watches Delilah from afar as she sits down at a computer, with his hawk vision he sees what she googles. He cocks his head, what are you trying to solve Delilah? he things

I left the library a bit dazed and confused. I'd only wanted to find one murderer. I guess the page had been organized based on views rather than recency, because instead I found newsletters from nearly twenty years ago. I grabbed my housecoat and flew down the steps. No. It can't be true.

At the lions, I stopped and looked around, trying to decide what to do. It had stopped raining, but the air was still heavy with moisture. Birds had taken the opportunity to come down from their roosts and forage for food. People dotted the streets, bundled up in scarves and hoodies. One kid had a rubber duckie raincoat- a tiny bit of sunshine amidst a world of clouds and grey.

I didn't know where to go. I most certainly wasn't going back to the pancake house, and the tears were coming back, unbidden. Funny how that works. The way that once the dam breaks, it takes so long before it heals up, and you can be brave again.

So I did what I always do when I'm emotional. I find a nitche- beneath the belly of the left lion in this case- and I begin to shrink. My clothes sink into my skin from which sprouts a thick coat of fur, grey as the day itself. My face stretches out, bones crackling as I change shape. Joints pop as my fingers shrink, and my fingernails grow to tiny claws. Within seconds, I have completely changed to my second Skin. All but my prosthetic, which clatters off like the dead thing it is.

Small, furry, fox-me snuggles under my houserobe beneath the stone lion. Today truely sucks.

Once Delilah leaves Zion runs after her, shifting into his eagle form and watching her from afar again. He watches with sadness in his eyes as his sister shifts into her fox form and settles under the statue of the left lion, her tears flying into the wind with the rain. Zion then flutters over to her and nestles next to her, without a noise he stares into her eyes, he blinks his one odd colored eyes slowly and makes sure to let her know that hes here for her, all with one look.

I stifle a sniffle. «Lies. It was all lies, Zi.» I thought as the eagle landed beside me. I watched the people carry out their everyday lives below, passing by the library without a second thought. I just wanted today to be over. Every bad this imaginable kept happening. Not only did I punch an orphan kid with no real reason for doing so, but now I found out that Mom and Dad-

I couldn't even comprehend it. Suddenly going home was not only revolting, but maybe even dangerous. I looked out on the lampposts and traffic lights with blurried vision, all the colors meshing together. «We can't go home. We can't even go home.»

As if on cue, my stomach rumbled. It was another day and a half before they could get lunch from school. How cold was it going to get? How long would it rain like this? As I huddle closer to Zion, I wonder if today isn't only the beginning of a long line of bad days. «But where can we go?»

Zion cocks his head at his sister when she says it was all lies. What were lies? he thinks. He opens his beak to ask her but a soft, dry screech only comes out. He hops out from underneath the lion and shifts back into Human form, he kneels down and sticks his torso back underneath the lion and strokes his sisters head. "What were lies? Why cant we go home?" he murmurs.

I curl up tighter, not wanting to admit the truth myself. I shiver at his touch, «Mom and Dad were in the news... years ago. They did something horrible. We... we can't stay here.»

I rose to my feet, three legs on the ground, and slid out from under my houserobe into the chilly air. The search for the murdurerer sounded childish and impossible now, replaced by the startling reality that if they did this, they would be homeless.

Zion thinks about what his sister said for a moment, What does Delilah mean? Both mom and dad did something horrible? They were on the news? I can believe mom did some horrible things back on Elemians but dad? He couldnt if he wanted to...
Thoughts and theories swim through his head for what seems to be an eternity, he gently turns his sister around to face him and looks into her eyes.
"Del, talk to me. What are you talking about?"

My whiskers twitched, fighting a sniffle. «They did all kinds of things. All within a few days. Buildings collapsed, Zi. Buildings with people in them.» I didn't feel like shifting back, people could tell I was crying then and that would only make things worse. So I hobbled down the first step, not sure where I was going. I needed time. Time to think this out. To decide. «Lachlan's place isn't far from here. Maybe we can stay there for the night.» I hopped down another step. «Get my leg and housecoat,» I said, not caring again. Then the little voice inside came up and poked me. I stopped. «erm, please?»

The Sirin shifted on her innertube, drumming her nails on the glass wall as she thought. "You know, this is quite a lot of information you're asking..." She lifted her nails to inspect them. Noticing it were chipped on one side, she stuck her index finger in her mouth and nibbled at it. "What do you plan to trade for it?"

When she heard Sherri's warning, she motioned to a rope hanging from the ceiling. "You can hide in the attic. Cat girl should blend in with Sandy just fine." She said.

Zion stares at his sister in awe for a moment, she just said please, something isnt right.

"Mom and Dad wouldnt do that, Ever since Mom came here she decided that she wouldnt do anything violent unless she needed to. There has to be an explanation for this. How do you even know that they did something? Why did you even go to the Library?"

Zion nods at his sister and grabs Delilahs leg and houserobe, he makes a makeshift bag out of the houserobe and places her leg in it, tying it tightly. He slings it over his shoulder then scoops up his sister in his arms, her soft damp fur tickling his arms.

He inhales the mist deeply, thoughts swimming through his head, worry agitating his stomach but he fights through it. If Del is right, we can still trust our parents... Cant we?

( ;-; Its alright Meggy dw about it :hugs)

River cocked her head, thinking. "If she is, she could be in danger. Keep an eye on her, okay? Not just for us, but for her." She said. "If they are the Pure, they know where we all live now, and what we can do." She muttered to herself.
