«We Could Be Legends»

Virio nodded simply, noting the shift in her mood, looking towards the bench with mild confusion. How was that affecting her...someone that was supposed to be here clearly wasn't, or perhaps she had seen something he hadn't. He followed her instructions, and turned off his location services. As an extra precaution, he placed it on airplane mode so no signals could be tracked any longer, and completely shut it down just to be sure. With that being said, he did the same to the Pure substitute teacher's phone as well, before he turned to her, explaining "Ready when you are.", his eyes spying the area surrounding them, attempting to distinguish whether or not they were being tracked at the exact moment in time.
She glanced over at him, studying her companion while he was looking away, her eyes searching his face for dishonesty, fear, something, but came back empty-handed and relieved. When he began to look back, she scooted off her hoverboard, turned, and stepped to the edge of the trail, not wanting to be caught watching him, surveying the quiet park for her friends. It was still empty, as far as she could tell, and it worried her. “Something must be holding them up.” She muttered, unconsciously causing a twig to float from the ground and snap itself in half and taking another step into the open, her sensitive eyes smarting in the bright sunlight as she watched for her acquaintances’ arrivals.

"I- yeah, I can drive." Toby said, and looked around. "Uh, should we tell the others where we're going? I'm going to tell the others." He turned to the people around River. "The chicken and I are going to the Multitude base. They aren't responding, we're going to make sure the Pure didn't get to them."
"Of course, I'm 'the chicken'," Frosty grumbled, hopping into the van. Despite his mutterings, he was entirely preoccupied with thoughts of the Multitude. What if the Pure slaughtered them all? He shook away the thought. No. It's not possible. The Multitude is a powerful organization. Besides, how would they know where to find the base anyway? Despite these reassuring thoughts, he couldn't shake away a feeling of dread. "Hurry up," he called to Toby, his voice distant.

Virio let her be for a while, scanning the area using his heat vision for a few moments. Upon seeing no activity, and having no phone to look through, he headed to the opposite side of the clearing, scanning the area vigilantly, all while humming to himself that 70s song...what was the name again? September, it was. By Earth, Wind, and Fire. It didn't take too long for him to dance some, some small, albeit very well coordinated steps as he hummed along, forgetting that Brisa was behind him. It was clear he did this often, as the dance move were rather skilled, and at times incorporated certain portions of his body going invisible, then fading back into view. He circled the corner of the clearing, attempting to locate someone, humming softly to himself. He stopped after a few minutes, not having found anyone, and the song having gotten blurred in his mind by some stupid birds squawking in the distance. He turned to Brisa, unabashed, giving her a shrug across the clearing as no one was to be found. If she motioned, he'd come over.

"Uh-right, coming." Toby replied, jogging into the car. He tossed the gun he was holding into the backseat and shoved the keys into the ignition. "You're gonna have to give me directions, I have no idea where I'm going."

Brisa started a bit and turned as he started humming, recognizing the song as one of her favorites. Watching him as he danced, she laughed a little at his unabashed shrug, smiling. “You know that song? I thought I was the only one who still listens to that kind of music!” She exclaimed happily. “Everyone at school thinks I’m weird, but I like it.”

Darn it. Peter gazed around blearily, looking for Indigo's car. He didn't see anything. "You know," he mumbled, starting to slide down the pole, "I just risked my life for-" He went limp, collapsing on the pavement.
With a messy snort, Bleddyn forced her illogical hysterics to a halt.
Hey.
Even though you're never gonna be able to take your biology test, not everyone's gone just yet.

That somehow realized, she was hammered with more than enough determination to come back and partake in present life.
Even still, it took her a while to get her vision clear and refocused enough to realize what she was seeing. She thrust angry fists into her runny eyes, cramming the illegal tears back from whence they came.
"What...on earth..." she muttered diffidently, dropping to her knees beside the fallen Peter. He was going to get it for having seen her that low- but in order to right that misconduct, first they had to overcome the obstacle of his apparent unconsciousness. Dude...seriously...why...I don't get it...he could've just asked...
"It's not like I'm unhealthily obsessed with taking tests or something, geeze."

After that declaration of defiance, Bleddyn experimentally poked his forehead and immediately jerked her hand back.

Virio, for the first time in about a month, found himself smiling, with genuine amusement that there was someone else out there who enjoyed the same type of music. He headed over to her, explaining "Of course, it's the best type of music. Well, like top three at least." He joked "Well, at least you're not the only one who's weird. We can be weird together." He eyed her clothes once more, and commented "By the way, I didn't say anything about your fashion sense, but I love it. Not too many people would try to pull it off - I think you did." He nodded in approval respectfully before awaiting a tentative response.

“Definitely.” She replied, grinning up at him. “Oh, thanks! I don’t get that very often; people usually think it’s strange, but I’m just interested by the 1950’s. The music too. I taught myself how to swing dance.” She admitted sheepishly. “Entirely useless, obviously, but hey, why not, you know?” She smiled, glancing away for a second, then back. “I’m glad I’m not the only weirdo out there, though.” She finished jokingly.

Virio listened attentively, before responding "You look nice in it, all the colors make you stand out nicely, as opposed to my all black tech-wear. I do have a few 70s outfits I just haven't been confident enough to put on outside the house." He stole a glance at her clothing once more, before he commented "Well, I can't say that I know how to dance swing, I suppose you'll have to teach me." He added "The only modern music I like would have to be new-school rap, reggaeton, and electronic variants. Other than that, I prefer the older stuff." He looked around also, scanning the area to make sure they're safe, before he joked "Yeah, nice to know I'm not alone out there in that regard."

“Do you want me too?” She asked, blushing the slightest bit at his compliments. “I could put on music.” She thought about it for a second, then shook her head. “Well, we should probably be paying more attention, though.” She said, reminded by his glance. “Hey, if we get out of this alive, I’ll teach you how to swing dance, okay?” She intoned, only half joking.
