«We Could Be Legends»

River winced as Wolfram lifted his bruised and utterly self-hating face to her slowly, whimpering her name like a wounded puppy. "Kid, I'm... Perfectly fine, it's okay. You didn't know... I was there." Her voice was broken up with sharp gasps of pain, but she tried to force a lighthearted grin to try and calm the boy. "I've taken bullets before... It'll take a lot more to... Kill me."

"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Wolfram sobbed, putting his hands on each side of his face. "It's not ok, it's not, it's not! I'm a monster...I'm a monster..." And a pathetic one at that. He felt so pathetic, so useless, and so weak, sitting there sobbing like a child. "It's not ok...it's not ok...I killed him...and I shot you....I shot you! You could die....I'm a murderer...." He choked on his words, his voice sounding frail and guilt-ridden.
Alice glanced over at him "She's not gonna die. I may suck at healing. But she knows that if she dies i'll have to kill her so she's gonna be fine." She tried to smile to lighten the joke but she was too tired. Rivers wound was slowly stitching itself back together but she wasn't going to be able to heal her completely and she knew it.

"I- yeah, I can drive." Toby said, and looked around. "Uh, should we tell the others where we're going? I'm going to tell the others." He turned to the people around River. "The chicken and I are going to the Multitude base. They aren't responding, we're going to make sure the Pure didn't get to them."

"Uh-right, coming." Toby replied, jogging into the car. He tossed the gun he was holding into the backseat and shoved the keys into the ignition. "You're gonna have to give me directions, I have no idea where I'm going."

Alice sighed "I guess that's it. That's all i can do, and they're gonna leave without us if we dont get going. Are you able to stand?" She asked her eyes blinking closed. She wanted to lay back down on the ground so what if it was cold and wet. "I think I've stopped the bleeding, but you need to be careful or it'll open again." She knew she had to stand on her own, she had to. Alice sighed her eyes closing again as her head nodded down on to her chest. She tried to shake the sleep away clumsily pushing herself to her feet. She could sleep in the car. She just had to get there.

“Do you want me too?” She asked, blushing the slightest bit at his compliments. “I could put on music.” She thought about it for a second, then shook her head. “Well, we should probably be paying more attention, though.” She said, reminded by his glance. “Hey, if we get out of this alive, I’ll teach you how to swing dance, okay?” She intoned, only half joking.
(last post of the night, good night all )
Virio noticed her blush, smiling some at it, not wanting to worsen it lest she get embarrassed, before he realized they were probably a little too lighthearted for the situation they were in. He smiled at her joke, before he returned one "Deal. If we get out of here alive, you teach me swing, and I'll teach you some dance you don't know. Maybe a Latin one or something?" He waited for an answer before he became solemn, he had found someone he would perhaps learn to open up to.

“Deal.” She replied, the smile on her face disappearing to match his solemn look as the troubling thought of her friends returned. She turned away a bit, glancing up towards the sky in search of Jessi and wincing as the sun shone in her eyes. A small noise of discomfort escaped her, and she glanced down again, blinking away the pain. Where are they? Shouldn’t at least one of them be here by now? (Night, guys!)

Jessi landed in the park with a thud, dropping the body and stumbling forward. She winced. Her heeled boots were not good for landing in. "Hey guys! Sorry it took so long, he was a lot heavier than I'm used to carrying in this form, by at least 100 pounds. I should've eaten him while I had the chance. Where are the others?" She asked.

Virio felt someone around them, and immediately took a step back, ready for a fight, only to realize it was a girl from class. He relaxed, allowing Brisa to do the talking, as he might be an unwanted sight for some, and one not expected. He simply gave her a nod of acknowledgement, not wanting to do more without Brisa intervening, taking the opportunity to put his hair in a messy bun, in case there was combat to come. There was no need to have loose strands of hair bouncing around in his hair if they got in a fight, and he knew he was valuable as a fighter. And he was determined not to let anyone die. Dancing with Brisa was a rather good catalyst in said determination, whether he cared to admit it or not.

Darn it. Peter gazed around blearily, looking for Indigo's car. He didn't see anything. "You know," he mumbled, starting to slide down the pole, "I just risked my life for-" He went limp, collapsing on the pavement.

(If anyone was wondering, Peter doesn't teleport other people often because it takes like 10x the effort to prevent them and him from being scrambled into a bunch of scattered molecules. XD)
"Peter!" Indigo screamyhissed. "I brought a van, because everyone was supposed to come, remember? Lastless, help me bring these kids to the van."
"Ok..." Sherri wasn't sure how she felt about dragging her classmates into a van.
She put her arms into Bleddyn's arm pits. "You can get up any time..." she said. "And do what you want."
Indigo didn't look that strong, but her stature gave her an advantage, and she could fireman carry pretty easily.
(I'm going to assume he's unconscious.)
"Of course, I'm 'the chicken'," Frosty grumbled, hopping into the van. Despite his mutterings, he was entirely preoccupied with thoughts of the Multitude. What if the Pure slaughtered them all? He shook away the thought. No. It's not possible. The Multitude is a powerful organization. Besides, how would they know where to find the base anyway? Despite these reassuring thoughts, he couldn't shake away a feeling of dread. "Hurry up," he called to Toby, his voice distant.
Indigo carried Peter to the van fairly easily, while Sherri was still struggling with Bleddyn.
Indigo pulled something out of the compartment in front of the passenger seat, a Bluetooth headset, but a lot fancier. She locked it onto her head, and it glowed as it turned on.
"Call Frosty," she muttered.
The phone began to ring on Frosty's end, an obnoxious rooster crow. :p Her voice came on before he should pick up, because the only time he wouldn't be able to hear her was unless his entire foot was removed. Sometimes, he thought unfortunately, since Indigo had heard his grumblings about this many times.
"Frosty, I'm at the school in the white van number 2 with three kids. Well one unconscious kid and one pathetic one trying to drag another to the van. What do you think I should do next? I can make it there fast, you know how I drive. I was hoping the others would get here."

Camilla strode to the middle of the Davis's house's living room, giving several obnoxiously loud claps of her hands to get the others' attention. "We're going to the park to meet up with Brisa and Jessi and Bleddyn. I just got a call from..." Her voice drifted off, wondering how many of them would listen to Alice's orders. "Aunt River and Alice. They've got a plan, but we've got to get the key from the bank." She declared, looking from Lachlan to Finlay, then to Jenna.
She glanced around the house, searching for something. "And are Ash and Connor still asleep?"

You could die....I'm a murderer...." River nodded to Alice, before glowing at Wolfram once more. "Wolfram! If I blamed you for this, or thought you were a 'monster', don't you think I would've made sure you knew that by now? Oh, come on, I'm not going to die, Alice just healed me!" She growled, poking the boy hard on his foot.
Suddenly, her hand shot out, gripping Wolfram by the shoulder, her other hand rooted to the ground, and she pushed herself up into a standing position, swaying slightly on her feet, one hand still resting gently on Wolfram's shoulder for support. "See? I'm fine. Please, Wolfram."

Wolfram refused to look at her, pulling the black hood off his sweatshirt over his face. "Lets just go." He snapped, pulling his shoulder away from River. He stood up to his full height, jerking away from her and stalking back to his car, casting one last guilty glance at his fathers broken and bleeding form, before yanking the car door open, and sliding inside without another word.
