«We Could Be Legends»

River blinked, taring her eyes away from the window to look at the younger inhuman. "I'm fine, my body just isn't used to having so many pain receptors go off, then having my body healed so fast, so I have one crazy migraine. But you honestly look worse off than me."
Wolfram looked away from her quickly, his phone buzzing as Lily begged to know where he was. "I'm fine. Just tired, that's all." He muttered, staring at his phone. He sighed, frowning.
Just be careful.
Was all he responded with.

Jessi looked at Virio. "Aren't you the weird dude that killed this guy?" She asked, nudging the body with her foot.

Jenna stood up. "Alright. My car has six seats in it. That should be enough seats for everyone." She walked into the kitchen and filled three to-go cups full of coffee.
Brisa jumped a little and spun around to face Jessi as she landed, a smile breaking out over her face. “Oh, thank gosh, I was starting to get nervous.” She exclaimed, averting her eyes from the dead man’s body. She listened as Jessi spoke, her face falling at the mention of the others. “I’m not sure. We’ve been waiting for a while and you’re the only one to show up. I want to text them, but I’m worried that the Pure have tapped our phones.” At Jessi’s mention of Virio, she nodded, glancing back at him. “It is. I met him on the way here. He’s become a target by killing that guy, plus he took his phone, so I brought him along.” She explained, gesturing towards the body between them.
Virio nodded simply towards Jessi, surprised she had downright called him "weird." It didn't bother him, he was actually refreshed by her unrelenting candor. Perhaps he truly was weird. Or maybe it was simply because no one knew him well enough to call him otherwise. His mind fell on his former conversation regarding music, realizing he was rather weird to most. Throughout all this, he simply stayed quiet, not wishing to spark some conflict between him and a hopeful ally through all this. If she needed to know something, he would tell her, but for now he let the two friends to the talking.

Jessi turned to Virio. "I don't think I got your name. My name is Jessi." She said, smiling at him. "I guess calling you weird was a little rude of me, after all, I'm the one with wings and horns talking about eating my dead substitute teacher." She said, shrugging.

Jessi nodded. "Ok. What're we going to do with the body?"

“Um...” Brisa surveyed the body. “Do any of you have any ways of burning it? The ground is wet, so we shouldn’t have to worry about catching the grass on fire. Otherwise I’m lost.” She said, shrugging. How are you being so casual about burning a body? Her brain screamed. What the heck is wrong with you?

"If I turn into a wyvern I can burn it. Should I be worried that I never thought of that, and instead wanted to eat him?" She glanced between them.

“Maybe a little.” Brisa laughed, despite her head filling with morbid thoughts of how the Pure wanted to burn that side from her friend. Then she sobered, taking a better look at their surroundings. “Where do we want to take him to do this? I think the trees get thicker over there.” She said, turning to point behind her.

"There sounds good. You guys stay here, I'll go roast him." She grabbed the body and tossed him on her shoulder, walking towards the trees. When she was out of sight, she stripped and turned into her wyvern form. She lit him on fire & watched as his flesh turned into charcoal.

"Hands off," Bleddyn growled shortly, ripping herself free from the smaller redhead’s grasp. “I can walk, ever how contrary to popular belief."

Simmering with indignation at both being caught unawares and then being herded along like some incompetent orphan, she strode the rest of the distance with purpose.

She slunk into the van and plopped herself down into the farthest possible seat from the driver.
Having noted the innovational interior of the vehicle with approval, she crossed her legs and peered up to the distant front seats.
Though she'd never admit it, the wail of the approaching fire engines and inevitable following investigations had her grateful for Indigo's timely appearance.
“So, since it appears we’re trusting you now, what’s the plan, Enchantress?”
"Mhm," Indigo said. Sherri slumped in the van and had a mini panic attack, seeing the cuff. It might not just be a tracking device, but a bomb!
The Pure van rumbled to a start. Frosty started to give Toby directions before they had even gotten onto the road. Then, his device suddenly came to life. "Indigo?" Frosty asked, for once not using her last name. After hearing her explain the situation, he said, "I'm going to the Multitude base. Something's happened. It could be dangerous. The fewer people, the better." He paused, trying to collect his thoughts. "You need to get the Key. The Pure are getting desperate. I think that the house that the kids are mostly at is being watched. Whatever you do, be careful." The late part was said as a warning. He didn't want whatever happened to the rest of the Multitude to happen to Indigo.
"You must be pretty desperate to be trusting my sense of caution in this situation." Indigo was already speeding down the road. She went even faster than Wolfram.
Sherri unbuckled and was thrown violently to the side on one of her turns. "Indigo!" She screamed, holding up her wrist. "I think I have a bomb!"
Indigo's eyes widened. Sherri fell back into a seat, buckling herself in. A different seat.
"No, not a bomb. But the Pure are probably tracking us right now. Frosty, we have a problem. The redheaded cat shifter girl, that short one," -Sherri cringed at this- "has a EB tracking device on her wrist from the Pure base. The kind that prevents you from shifting. What should I do with her?"
Do with her? That didn't sound good. Were they going to throw her out of the van? At this speed? No, Sherri thought.

Jessi turned to Virio. "I don't think I got your name. My name is Jessi." She said, smiling at him. "I guess calling you weird was a little rude of me, after all, I'm the one with wings and horns talking about eating my dead substitute teacher." She said, shrugging.

Virio took her hand, shaking it politely before he responded "And I'm Virio. And don't worry about it, we all have something. Turning invisible and killing people in less than a second and eating a corpse in alternate form, what does it matter?" He turned to Brisa, allowing Jessi to go do what had to be done, giving her privacy in case she was self-conscious. Well, she didn't seem like the self-conscious type, but you could never be certain.

Toby glanced at Frosty. I cannot believe I'm driving a chicken to a secret base. I must be seriously losing it right now. It's like I'm an Uber driver for chickens. If people start calling me animal boy or anything similar to that, I'm going to scream.

"Get it off," Frosty said, as of it was that simple. "Or, you know, you could chop off her hand, if you can't figure that out." He added sarcastically.
