«We Could Be Legends»

Brisa turned at the sound of the car’s engine, a relieved smile breaking over her face. “Oh, thank goodness. I was really starting to worry.” She exclaimed, heading over by the van. “Do you have any news of the others?”
Virio followed, staying close behind her side, not looking aggressive in any manner, simply attempting to keep cool. He knew there were be doubt and confusion, even uneasiness in him being here, but he knew he was also a valuable asset.

"I'd be happy to have attention, but not by him," Sherri was happy to share the secret of girly gossip with this tomboyish child. "Normally, either you shame them, or show them how incompatible you are together, but in this case I don't think those tactics will work." She had the face of a strategist, moving pawns. She spread her hands.
And then Indigo took another very illegal turn and she bonked her head on a window. "Ow, that didn't hurt."
Sherri recovered from the sudden blow, staring at the bow stretched out in the back. "What's wrong with him?"
"Dude." Still completely unaffected by the van's unholy velocity, Bleddyn's face morphed into full-out incredulous deadpan. "Did you just ask me what's wrong with Wolfram?"
One of those deep canid laughs that she’d picked up from her father bubbled up from her throat. “Do you want me to actually give you a list?" She gestured toward the blurred scenery and gave an appreciative slow clap. "Continuing at our current speed, I highly doubt we’ll even have enough time to go through it all.”

Wolfram's eyes drifted from the road for half a beatbeat, flickering over the speed beforelooking back to the dull, never ending, light gray mass of concrete that you called a road. He glanced at River, his foot pushing harder on the gas as if to test how fast he could get the car to go. Now would be a really bad time to get caught doing this. Looking away from River, his eyes scanned the rearview mirror to see Alice asleep in the back seat. Though Taylor wasn't really asleep, she was curled against the window on her phone. Letting out a soft sigh of relief that everyone was at least semi alright, he looked back to the road.

Within 20 minutes, he slowed down, pulling into town. Then, painfully, he had to break the comfterble silence. "Alright...so the park?"

"Okay." Jenna said, and pulled out of the driveway. The park wasn't far away from her house, so they got there relatively fast. She parked her car and looked around, quickly spotting a girl with pink wings. She got out of the car and walked towards Jessi. "Mom! Glad you guys are okay." Jessi said and embraced her in a tight hug.

Virio quickly noticed the black SUV pull into a parking spot, trying to figure out who might be inside. Using his heat vision, as the tinted windows obstructed his view in, he saw a few people in the car. He could see faint outlines of things they were holding, but he couldn't make out what exactly they were. They seemed long, and were awfully cold...he didn't want to jump to conclusions, but it seemed as if they were toting guns.

Ash made her way out of the van and flung her empty coffee mug into a nearby trashcan. Connor eventually managed his way out of the confines of the car and made an appearance, still cradling his precious cup.
"Hey, you guys," Ash greeted warmly to the two girls, her contagious smile hoping to remedy any persistent atmospheric dread. "So who exactly is here and who's still coming?"
Curious, she offered a friendly nod to the taller boy looming behind them.
Riled wary tried to instinctually caution her to his potential being a foe, but somehow she immediately knew he was okay. "And who might you be?"

Virio looked away from the black van he had been keeping tabs on, before meeting her eyes in greeting, nodding back in a simple, confident manner. He responded stoically "I'm Virio, nice to meet you. Brisa brought me here." He didn't bother to ask for her name, because, frankly, that car had become more suspicious by the second. Very weak, albeit real heat signals were leaving the car, before fading towards the sky. They had telecoms, whoever was in there. And the fact that almost all the heads in the car were pointed towards them didn't make the situation better. He added with a general nod in the black van's direction, "I think we're being watched."

Jessi looked at the vans. "Please don't tell me that's more Pure." She groaned.
(My brain is dead, sorry.)

Brisa turned, squinting her X-ray vision at the car. “Well, that’s not good.” She muttered, summoning her hoverboard and stepping on when it nudged against her angle. “Um, guys? Should we get in the van and speed away or- No, we can’t leave River’s group to show up to an empty park.” She cast a nervous look at Virio with her gold-flecked eyes before she began scanning the trees for any lone gun-wielding figures but thankfully came back empty.

Connor finished off his coffee with a loud slurp and spontaneously shifted. As the empty cup clattered to the pavement, he was rhythmically pacing on all fours, now equipped with a wolf's keen nose. Hackles stiff, the large black wolf traversed a large circle in front of the group while he alternated between scanning scents of the air and earth.
"No threatening individuals around besides those in vehicles," he ascertained after his muzzle had morphed back into a mouth and he got back up on human feet. "If anyone else were lurking, the malign intent would be odoriferous."
"If these people are as advanced as they seem, they're bound to have tracking technology far beyond evasion," Ash added quietly, coming up alongside Connor to peer closer at the menacing vehicles. "We can't really hope to flee at this point."
Her brow knitted when she realized a concerning absence. "When's the last time you saw Bleddyn? I thought she was supposed to be with you guys."
