Wolfram gave a grunt of disbelief, clearly seeing right through her cover-up smile. "And pigs can fly. I've seen a cover-up smile on myself enough times," he snarled, turning away from her, but instantly regretting how cold he sounded. Why can't I ever do something right for once?Bleddyn gave him a long, weighty look before responding.
"It's okay enough that there are more important things I'm focused on than feeling pain," she replied evenly and gave her left thigh a tap for emphasis.
Unfortunately, the inevitable wince came too. But she made sure to quickly replace it with a small, lopsided grin. "I'm just as fine as the next stubborn Pure victim."
He crossed his arms across his chest, the dull ache deciding to nip repeatedly at his arm when he moved. Sighing, he looked back over at her, giving a half-hearted smile. "Sorry....I didn't....I didn't mean to be so...mean when I said that."
