«We Could Be Legends»

She looked up at him, meeting his gaze with her bright green one. “It’s okay.” She said quietly to him. “We’ll figure it all out. I know you don’t like Indigo, but she is helping us for some reason. We’re getting something good out of this. Just hang on a little longer.” She finished, trying to stay calm even though nerves were fluttering in her stomach. “We can do this.” She added softly, almost to herself, taking a deep breath and trying to quiet the anxious and impatient yelling in her brain. Come on, lady, believe Indigo! Hurry up!

Molly's palm clenched on the desk, but she relaxed. "Ok, all right," she muttered.
Molly spoke to the man and he returned with an envelope in his hand.
This time it was handed to Indigo, who frowned and gave it to Wolfram, pressing it into his palm gently. "Next time, bring your ID," she muttered.
The desk clerk, meanwhile, seemed to have forgotten about the whole ordeal.
"I–" Suddenly he broke off when Indigo gave him the key. Wolfram took it numbly, staring at the envelope. He glared at Indigo, but didn't speak. "This...." He whispered. "Let's go, lets get out of here." He pulled away from Brisa, jerking head head toward the entrance. "I don't dare stay here a second longer now that we have this."

"I agree with this statement," Indigo said. She walked with purpose, but not haste, towards the door, just another professional errand for her.

Brisa followed the two out, checking to make sure the group by the cars were still there.

Wolfram trotted over, pulled the door open, and stepped outside, a flood of relief washing over him when a light November breeze licked at his clothes and hair. "We got it! We actually got it!"

Brisa gave a little hop for joy, smiling happily as relief rushed through her. “Finally! That took way too long.” She said as they approached the group.

"It did," Wolfram nodded, fiddling with the bulge in the envelope. "My question is...what do we do with it now? We have it out of Mapleshade's grasp, but we have to destroy it someway, ensure no one can ever get their hands on it." Would Mom want that, though?

What if leaving it in the bank was the safer way to go? thought Indigo.
"Well the easiest thing to do would be to hide it with other trash," she decided.

"The easiest way, sure...but she could still find it..." Wolfram let out a long sigh, narrowing his eyes. Suddenly his head shot up, glancing around wildly as if he had heard something. "What was that?" His eyes narrowed on the bushes at the far side of the parking lot. "Get. Get into the cars. She's here, she right in those bushes, I can guarantee it!"
"Stop. Where. You. Stand," came the slow, drawling, icy, hissing voice.

Brisa paused uncertainly, unsure if her and the others had guns trained on them or not. I’m sure we do. Switching to heat vision she scanned the bushes Wolfram had pointed out, seeing at least five people other than the angry cat-shifter.

"Mapleshade..." Wolfram faced her, eyes glowering. She had a gun in her hand, pointed directly at Brisa, whilst the others crept out of the bushes with stundart guns. "You love to choose the most open places to attack, don't you?"
"Mhm, I suppose I do." She sneered, slinking up to him with delicate steps. "Now, here's the deal, alright? Hand over the Key, and no one gets hurt." She tilted her head, pursed her lips slightly, and spoke in the most innocent, yet somehow most deadly, voice. "Deal?"
"Hmm...how about no?" Wolfram shrugged. "I mean, I rather not give it up. Kinda important to me."
"Here's the deal, Little Wolf. You give me that, and you and your precious sidekicks get off unscathed. Oh wait," she let out a laugh that made Wolfram's blood freeze, "they'll die anyway. Even more painfully, I do have to say. So..." She slunk close to him, her single green eye glittering malevolently. "What's the deal?"
