«We Could Be Legends»

"I have been called a lot of weird names - Toby being the only good one - but I've never been called Toby heart." He said laughing.
Indigo groaned. "Except, that's not what I meant to say! I meant..." Indigo slapped her face audibly, making some of the plaster dust blow away in puffs, revealing some of her natural color, or what was very red. "I just realized I said something that made absolutely zero sense."

"Toby hue? I don't know which one's worse!" Seeing how red she was made him laugh harder. "It's fine, you're not the only one who says stupid stuff. Don't act like it's the end of the world, Indigo heart." He teased.

Indigo shut her eyes and sputtered. She stopped laughing when she remembered where they were, in a destroyed secret base, filled with people in danger. And alone in the dark.
"Maybe it is the end of the world. We should find Jessi."

Toby fell silent, and dropped his gaze to stare at the ground. Great. I'm, again, the weirdo laughing at a terrible time. "Uh, yeah, I'll-um, I'll go find her." He mumbled, and sped up to a jog to put some distance between them.

Indigo shined her flashlight beam about and it reflected off his retreating form. She ran after him. "Hey," she said.

Toby slowed down. "Uh, hi." He adjusted his glasses, and continued walking. "I'll get Jessi and then we'll go."
Indigo picked at her nails. Did I say something? She squinted. Does Toby always wear glasses? Why is he adjusting them like that?
Then she just nodded with complacency

Toby looked at her confusedly. "What?" He asked, and glanced behind him. "Why are you looking at me like that? I don't have something weird on me, do I?"

"Oh, I was just looking at your glasses..." Indigo peered into the distance as the beam flashed off something pink. "Hey, is that Jessi?"

"Oh." He said, turning extremely self conscious. Great. As if I didn't already hate my appearance, miss perfect-I-have-no-physical-issues is pointing out my glasses. "Yup, that Jessi. Jess!" Toby called out to her. Jessi turned around. "There you guys are! I was worried you guys got crushed under something!" She said, relieved to see them. "No, we're fine. I think we're going now." He replied, quickly walking out of the building towards the car.
