«We Could Be Legends»

Toby looked up at Indigo. "Uh, yeah, can you help me get her in the car?" He asked, pointing at Brisa. "She's a bit too heavy for me..." he trailed off. Of course she is, if she wasn't you wouldn't need help. "Have you seen the others? Jessi's looking from above, but it's hard for her to see with all the smoke." Toby asked.
Indigo shook her head. "We should probably recover all of the other people who are injured too... and put them in the van. I've got medical supplies in there. I know that you know how to use it."
She reached for Brisa's curled form, lifting her legs and and head. "Get on the other side of her."

Toby nodded, and grabbed Brisa's arms. He lifted her up and pushed her into the car. "Thanks," he said, brushing his hands off on his pants. He clicked his tongue and pointed to the car and Alpha jumped in. He closed the care door and glanced at Indigo, then went to get the injured people.

"Toby! Indigo!" Taylor skidded to a halt, heart beating frantically inside her chest. "Two huge problems. One, the fire stopped at the river, but it's still spreading deeper into the forest. We have to find water benders, somewhere, somehow. And two...the Pure. They're still fighting even though Mapleshade is nowhere to be found, though I hope to God Wolfram succeeded in ridding of her."
Taking a ragged gasp, she raked her hair from her face, disgusted to find it was sticky and clumped together with blood and dirt. "Indigo, do you know if anyone from the Multitude is a water-bender?"
Well, anyone that's still alive...

"Mike is a water-bender..." Indigo said. He was always staring at her, watching her. Indigo wasn't really a fan. But I still don't wish him dead... "But I don't know that he's made it." He wasn't exactly the stubborn survivor type. "I'll look around."

"Good, look for him. If you find any of the Multitude members or any of the group, tell them they have to get out of the city. I have to find Lily." With a nod, Taylor dashed back into battle, unarmed.

A tall female approached him. It was Indigo. "Need any help?" Her soft British accent was hoarse and broken, her throat coated with ash. Where is that Peter? He should be getting some water for the fire survivors.
Indigo glanced upwards.
The clouds which had poured rain upon them for two days were nowhere to be seen. It was strange how it could rain for two days and yet the ground could still be as thirsty as always.
Maybe it was helping a little, though...
The fire, which was blazing toward the horizon, had stopped. The river! It's swollen now! The fire will stop there!

Brisa was vaguely aware of Toby’s voice, then a stab of pain as she was dragged a short distance. As she faded in and out of consciousness she heard things. A dog panting. Someone who sounded like Indigo. She was lifted, her ribs screaming. Another, more panicked voice: Taylor. Smoke was thick in the air, and it was filling her lungs. Words became unintelligible as a sound like static filled her head. I’m safe. I should just let go and wait it out. But what if I don’t wake up? She gulped, her heart beating in her throat. How much blood did I lose? Then there was silence.

Mikki flew over the fire, her eyes burning from the smoke. She swooped down over the city, trying to see if there was anything left that could be used like a giant bucket. “Come on! Think, Mikki, think!”

Toby cursed at the news of the Pure still fighting. Looks like I'm not rounding people up after all. He thought. He turned to Indigo. "Find me when everyone's leaving," he said, reloading his gun and walking grumpily back to kill the Pure.

Jessi flew through the air. She spotted a couple of people who looked familiar, but after further inspection she saw they were no one she knew. This is pointless. I should try to stop the fire instead. She thought. She closed her eyes and dove into the fire. She rolled in the fire, remembering that's how you put it out if you're on fire, and was happy to see it was helping. Not much, but it was still better than nothing.

Mikki noticed a semi truck that looked useful, using her powers to to tear the trailer off of the back and dumping the contents out as she lifted it into the air. “That’s heavy.” She muttered to herself. And it’s about to get a lot heavier. She sped towards the river, trailer in tow, and lowered it into the water. When it was full she gritted her teeth and lifted it out of the river, sinking in the air as the trailer rose, channeling as much energy as she could into lifting it. Moving it over the forest, she tilted it slightly, a stream of water pouring down onto the flames as she let out a yell of frustration at her quickly-sapping energy.

Indigo nodded and stumbled into a crowd of frightened people escaping the fire. She stood on a small boulder.
Perhaps extra height will make me more noticeable.
Indigo tossed her head, the long, dark curls that were drooping into her eyes fell into their rightful places.
"Everyone... Look at me..." Her commanding voice rang out in the din of fear.
Timidous faces turned, eager to find a brave one among them. Indigo was careful to erase all traces of doubt from her beguiling countenance.
"I know you're all scared, but I know you feel powerless with no way to help. " There was quiet. If the people before her could find the courage to speak, Indigo was sure she'd hear the fearless cry of "Amen."
However, no one had the courage to utter more than the hushed whisper muttered between them, spreading like ink through water.
And who is she to say that? How can she help us? What can she say to change things? What does she want from us?
And...
What can we do to help?
Indigo raised her hands, though she could not silence a shout, for there was none that she had the power to silence. Not in this group, only in the wall of fire from which screams came. Perhaps it was to silence the whispers or the fire and screaming echoing in her mind.
"In order to help, we need some volunteers," Indigo continued. "Do any of you happen to be waterbenders? Or have the ability to curb fire?"

Camilla stumbled away from her cousins and unconscious sister, her grey eyes sealed to Indigo. "I'm an ice-bender." She choked out, glancing nervously at the wildly abundant flames from time to time.
