«We Could Be Legends»

Alice looked back over her shoulder out the van door, Toby was there soot and grime and blood smeared over his face, a look of exhausted concern on his face. "Toby! Yeah, I guess. Are you?" A million questions weighed on her mind, all of them frantically racing through her head, Why was Finley acting weird, Why hadn't Ash responded to her, Where was Cam, Where was Dyn. Alice squeezed her eyes shut and tried to decide what was the most important thing she had to find out. Finley had said there was a big fight, so more people than Brisa might be hurt.

"Who's hurt the worst? Where do you need me?"

Toby shrugged. “I guess,” he said in response to her asking if he was all right. He wasn’t okay, but now wasn’t the time to bring that up. “I don’t know. I’ve lost track. I think River is hurt pretty badly, probably Wolf as well. Heck, everyone’s hurt pretty badly. It’s a miracle people haven’t already di-“ his voice cut off abruptly as he pictured Jenna’s lifeless body. Toby slid down the side of the car, and peered at Alice through is blood covered glasses. “Is-is Alpha- is Alpha in there? I can’t see him.”

Grace was running out of power and she knew it.
Her body felt like she had just run the pacer test 500 times- except all of her ached, not just her legs. Exerting that much electricity in, then out of her body was taking her energy with it. Despite this, she persisted, shooting charges of electricity at anyone coming towards her wearing Pure uniform. She noticed at some point that the sleeves of her jacket were frayed and burnt-looking, but her mind barely registered it before she saw another Pure member hiding behind an overturned van. She thrust her arm in their direction, but it was too late. They had already fired the bullet that bit into her shoulder. She sucked in a breath and stumbled. The arc of electricity veered and found a stunted tree as its target. She stumbled again and fell back, landing in a sitting position. She clutched her shoulder and hunched forward, her back stiff with pain. C'mon.. it's not even that bad.. you can keep fighting..
Just then, Peter appeared by her side. "Hey, Thor." He tried to smile but it came out as a weird grimace on his dust-streaked face.
"I'm fine," Grace said, panting, to her brother, "I can fight!" She tried unsuccessfully to suppress a sharp yelp of pain as she got clumsily to her feet.
"There's not much Pure left around here.. just a few stragglers. The others- on our side- are gathering by the van." He gave her a concerned look and gestured vaguely to the direction of several different vans. "Look, I'll take you there."
Grace tried to pull away but Peter grabbed her wrist and they teleported by the group. Peter gasped and sagged to the ground, remembering to let Grace go before he pulled her down with him.

Alice looked her sister over, and for the most part she seemed fine. The sound of popping metal behind her as Toby leaned against the van caught her attention though. She quickly turned and went over to him. Aside from the names he'd given her she hadn't really been listening to what he was saying.
"Are you sure you're ok?" She looked him over before he had a chance to answer. His soggy sleeve drawing her attention.

(Nevermind I'll add it after.)

Alice looked over at Peter and Grace who suddenly appeared, but stayed with Toby since she was already with him.

Toby gave her a quick nod. “Yup. I’m fine. Just tired,” he said, subconsciously pulling his arm closer to his chest when she looked at it. “I can’t see Alpha. Is he still in the car?” He repeated, trying to look through the windows of the cars. He couldn’t see in them, due to sitting on the ground.

It took Alice a second to figure out who he was talking about.
"Oh! Right you have a dog. Uhh," She stood up and peered in the window. "There's a black and brown dog curled up in the front seat." She crouched back down beside him momentarily, "look if you're not dying I'll go check on Peter ok." She gave him a rough pat on the shoulder of his obviously injured arm, grimacing as she turned away. He wasn't Bleddyn and didn't deserve to have her test just how hurt he really was.

Alice went over to Peter, his bloodied leg was obvious.

"Where all are you hurt?" She asked, trying to distract him as she put her already bloodied hand onto his leg, avoiding the actual opening and beginning to heal him.

“That’s him. Thank you.” Toby said slouching down. He was relieved Alpha was safe.
As Alice patted his shoulder, Toby jerked to the side. “Ow!” He yelped, his eyes widening as his uninjured arm grabbed his wound. “Don’t do that!”

Alice considered apologizing, but what could she say, it was what she did when people were obviously lying about pain. But a glance back over her shoulder on her way over to Peter, reminded her that while she might be fine, every one else looked miserable.
"Sorry. I won't do it again." She said quietly.

Toby sighed, dropping his hand to his leg. He didn’t understand why people liked to purposely hurt him by poking his wounds.
Toby ran his hand through his hair. “I see you’re tr-trying to heal people... can I help? I-I can’t do much, but...” he trailed off. Just face it, you can’t help her. She’s a healer. There’s nothing you can do that a healer can’t. You’re useless.

"Hmm, well, If you're up to it I could use your help." Alice frowned realizing that her powers were acting weird. Normally it wasn't this easy to patch people up, and she wasn't feeling drained at all. "Would you assess the people that are here and triage? Once everyone here's patched up we can look around for others."
