«We Could Be Legends»

It took Alice a second to figure out who he was talking about.
"Oh! Right you have a dog. Uhh," She stood up and peered in the window. "There's a black and brown dog curled up in the front seat." She crouched back down beside him momentarily, "look if you're not dying I'll go check on Peter ok." She gave him a rough pat on the shoulder of his obviously injured arm, grimacing as she turned away. He wasn't Bleddyn and didn't deserve to have her test just how hurt he really was.

Alice went over to Peter, his bloodied leg was obvious.

"Where all are you hurt?" She asked, trying to distract him as she put her already bloodied hand onto his leg, avoiding the actual opening and beginning to heal him.
Peter tried to pull his leg away, but just ended up reminding himself of the wound. He yelped and muttered something, then cleared his throat and tried again. "I'm sure this, uh, isn't the worst injury. I mean, some people probably have their legs cut off.." he waved his hand toward his leg as he talked, but didn't look at it. He wasn't sure if he'd manage not to faint if he looked at the bloody wound.

Startled Annie stared at him horrified. Was he just exaggerating? Her heart skipped a beat. What exactly had happened while she was sleeping?

"What?" She squeaked, unable to comprehend that what he said could possibly be fact. "Y-you, mean," Her eyes flickered down to the bullet hole that was slowly knitting together on his leg. He was shot. Toby, is hurt somehow, Brisa was stabbed, and burned, and her head was hurt too, Auntie Ash wouldn't answer. What did Finley say? Something about Mapleshade getting the key, and a big fight. Connor? Her face paled, staring at the sticky red all over her hands and Pete's leg. "What happened to Connor?" She asked her voice barely a whisper.

Alice's eyes slowly adjusted to the dim light, some of the flames still flickered near by, and she spotted Ash awkwardly leaning against the seat on the other side of the van. Her eyebrows drew down as she squinted at the back of her head trying to make out why she would be slouched like that.
(@HeavensHens88 yeah I'm totally gonna wake her up.) "Aunty?"

Toby’s head snapped up when he heard Alice speak. “A-Alice? You’re awake?” He asked, looking around until he found the blurry outline of Alice standing by Brisa and Ash. “You were asleep for a long time. Are you okay?” She must be really confused.

Alice looked back over her shoulder out the van door, Toby was there soot and grime and blood smeared over his face, a look of exhausted concern on his face. "Toby! Yeah, I guess. Are you?" A million questions weighed on her mind, all of them frantically racing through her head, Why was Finley acting weird, Why hadn't Ash responded to her, Where was Cam, Where was Dyn. Alice squeezed her eyes shut and tried to decide what was the most important thing she had to find out. Finley had said there was a big fight, so more people than Brisa might be hurt.

"Who's hurt the worst? Where do you need me?"

"Alice! You're awake!" Camilla's voice was squeaky, and she winced as a stab of pain went throughout her sore throat. She scrambled up to Toby, Finley, and Alice, but glanced back when Lachlan dropped his weapons, then bent over and disposed of a good quantity of sour looking acid from his empty stomach.

Toby shrugged. “I guess,” he said in response to her asking if he was all right. He wasn’t okay, but now wasn’t the time to bring that up. “I don’t know. I’ve lost track. I think River is hurt pretty badly, probably Wolf as well. Heck, everyone’s hurt pretty badly. It’s a miracle people haven’t already di-“ his voice cut off abruptly as he pictured Jenna’s lifeless body. Toby slid down the side of the car, and peered at Alice through is blood covered glasses. “Is-is Alpha- is Alpha in there? I can’t see him.”

It was Connor's name that dragged Ash over the border of wakefulness. She blinked once, trying to gather her bearings amidst the agony and pinpoint who had spoken.
That's my niece. "Oh, Alice, honey." Her soft words had jarring clarity compared to her semiconscious murmurings. She tried to sit up to see where Alice was, but immediately she was overcome by a wild spinning that morphed the van into a darkening funnel. The overpowering dizziness coaxed her to retch, but as she did so, the whirling evolved into an entire blackness, welcoming her to complete oblivion.

A tall, graceful shape picked her way back to the van, if a bit clumsily. Smoke whorled ponderously behind her.
“The fire’s out!” she called jovially. As Indigo approached the van, she called over to Toby, who seemed to constantly be made useful.
“Do you have any gauze, water, and disinfectant? We might need some of that.” She gestured to a mud-encrusted scrape on her arm that was starting to itch with infection. It’s probably all full of bacteria, she thought. Then she gestured to a crowd of people that seemed to materialize out of the smoke; running, limping and crawling.
They had obviously suffocated for a few minutes just for her benefit. A dramatic entrance was always nice.
She imagined the tears of joy that were obviously on Toby’s lowered head.

"Hmm, well, If you're up to it I could use your help." Alice frowned realizing that her powers were acting weird. Normally it wasn't this easy to patch people up, and she wasn't feeling drained at all. "Would you assess the people that are here and triage? Once everyone here's patched up we can look around for others."

Toby nodded at Alice and stood up, leaning against the car for support. Before he could do anything, Indigo arrived. He stared blankly at her while his brain processed what she was saying. “Oh... yeah, h-hold on,” Toby said. He dug around his backpack, pulling out what she asked for. “Sit down.” he commanded, oblivious to the people that followed her out of the smoke.

Alice started to smile, relieved to hear her aunts voice, but the following sounds quickly replaced any sense of joy with prickling anxiety. She looked worriedly up at Peter, no longer certain she wanted to find out. She swallowed hard and hung her head to focus on healing his leg.

Toby dropped to his knees by her side and dumped the water on her wound, using a scrap of gauze to clean it. Once it was clean, he put antibiotic cream in it and wrapped it up. “I think I got it clean, but I honestly can’t see anything more than a foot in front of me.” He said.

“Did you lose a contact? Or your glasses?” Indigo couldn’t remember which he was wearing last time she saw him. Does he even wear contacts? Or glasses?
“It’s fine.” She patted the gauze on her arm and stood up unsteadily. Exhaustion was starting to set in, and she was probably the least injured of all of them.

Peter opened his mouth but nothing really came out. He ran a trembling hand over his face and tried to say something again, but interrupted himself with a yelp of pain. His leg felt extremely itchy, like a bunch of bees were crawling around under his skin. The thought made him a shiver, but he didn't dare touch his leg, or even look at it.
After Ash spoke, Peter bowed his head over and hunched his shoulders. Now that the adrenalin rush was starting to ebb, he was feeling his weariness. He stared at his hands, and for the first time noticed that they seemed almost.. translucent? Or maybe that was just his imagination.. Then again, I've teleported so much in such a short amount of time.. maybe I'm dissolving. The thought, for some reason, was amusing to him. He lifted his head a bit to look at the blurry figure of Alice and mumbled. "See? You should heal her. I'm fine. I'll.. I'll just dissolve." He then slumped forward and darkness overtook him.
