«We Could Be Legends»

"Who were you defending, though, yourself or your friends? Clearly you show no respect for them." Emily looked sorrowfully at Sherri. "Enchantresses have no power to kill, unless they force you to kill yourself."
"Are you serious? I have no respect for my friends?"Wolfram voice was low, but filled with rage. His eyes flashed with a enraged look."I respect my friends, and I am defending my friends, more then anything! And you know why? Because they accept me for who I am! I've known Lachlan for a day, sure, But he has never flinched away from me, whatever state I'm in. He relizes how sensitive my emotions are, unlike you!"

"That means nothing!"Wolfram snarled."My blood does not define me, and I don't want to be treated like it does!"He didn't care who he was talking to, and how he was talking to them.

"Dangerous?!"Wolfram's snarl was a half laugh half snarl."I think silent, murderious enchantress are more then dangerous then someone who pulls a knife to defend his friends!"
"Do not test me you..."
Lachlan stopped listening. He had caused this, and now everyone was at each-other's throats, their words like fangs, tearing into anything they could grip.
Wolfram was defending him, but who was he, yelling at River? The woman who had given him shelter and a full belly? River had simply corrected Lachlan when he had insulted Emily, and he had deserved the reprimand.
Sherri was just piping in now and then, but when she did, she fired everyone up. Why did she like this Enchanter so much, anyway? She had manipulated them.
Emily, was, well, being Emily. She obviously hated Wolfram, and she kept acting like she was his mother.
Lachlan's hands curled into fists and he gritted his teeth. "Guys, just stop! I'm sorry, for being rude. And Wolfram, thank you for defending me, it's kind." He said loudly.

"Mrs. Lastless! Wolfram does have respect for his friends." Lachlan said, barely controlling his voice.

Adreneilene flared in Wolfram's veins, and he didn't seem like he would stop."You caused none of this, Lachlan."He hissed, his voice calm."It was here and her jerk of a mother!"He spat at Sherri and Emily.

"Thanks, Wolf." Lachlan said, turning to him. "They may be jerks, but right now, we can't do anything about that. Emily is very wrong, I know." He said calmly, his voice low.

"But-"Wolfram's shoulders trembled with rage, yet the hatred Wasnt directed at anyone in the room. It was towards his father."I can't...She...she wrong....she has to....she has to ad....admit....admit it!"He struggled for words.

"We may want her to, and maybe she should, but people don't just admit that kind of stuff. Not many people, at least." Lachlan said.

"But she...she...she's got to! I....she..."Wolfram gasped, at a loss for breath and words. Something had drained his energy.

"Reasonable answer."Wolfram muttered, picking at his food. He glanced at her every few minutes, only for less then a millisecond. He Didnt need to get caught staring at her, she'd probably have his head before he knew it.
Bleddyn chewed for an explicitly long time.
Wolfram glanced at Bleddyn for a heartbeat, and looked away, staring at his plate. A headache roared in his head, like invisible claws sinking into his skull. The endless chattering around him made his eyes narrow, another aching pain shooting through his head. A hardly audible snarl welled in his throughout, his hands clenching into fists.I need to find out which person of the pure killed my mother! And which person shot at Bleddyn... His hands clenched into fists even tighter, his knuckles turning white. What if Mapleshade really is in The Pure? My mother knew her better then anyone....She would know. What is this key they want? What if Mapleshade has it? And what exactly can it do? What if....they have the power to destroy everything? He sighed softly, his eyes flickering with emotion. My mother would know...even if she didn't, she would just tell me that everything would be alright. That we would be safe no matter what. But she wasn't safe, and I wasn't good enough. If I hadn't stayed to fight with Lily, and came home earlier, I would have saved her. She would be alive right now, and none of this would of happened. Is this even worth it? He glanced at Bleddyn and Lachlan quickly, before looking down again. It is, partly. Loosing my mother isn't worth it. I wouldn't trade her life for infinite money or the power over the world. Nothing....Nothing at all.... His eyes darkened, his head throbbing even worse. His chest tightened in grief as he thought of his mother, her voice so gentle and comforting, no matter the situation. Would my father know? Would he know anything about The Pure? NO! He is worthless! Rage replaced agony in his eyes, his jaw clenching. He abandoned me and my mother! He told us where where worthless! That we weren't special, even though I was just like him! He said no one would want the boy who was a cat. The memory flashed in his mind so clearly. He remembered he was about 7 or 8, his mother had fallen out with his father before he was born, but then they tried to get back together, and then his father met him...
"What. Is. That? Wolfram stared up at the man with wide eyes. The tall male's voice was full of disgust and hate. Wolfram was petrified of the man, the guys cat like eyes and tall figure scaring him."He is your son..."His mother's gentle voice soothed him, a gentle hand resting on his shoulder."And if you want to be with me, you will accept him. He is just like you. He is a Inhuman." The males eyes flared with anger."NO! I do not want a idiotic child in my life! He is worthless and stupid, and so are you!" Fear flashed in Wolfram, his body tensing. He stood there trembling."How could you let this happen? Why did you have to have a stupid child? It's worthless, You're worthless!" The man snarled."How dare you! Wolfram is not worthless, he is special, Michele!"
Wolfram's body trembled with anger. His body was tense and trembling, his hand pure white, the blood from earlier glittering brightly against the pale skin."I don't want a CHILD, Silver!"His father snarled."You are acting very childish right now, Michele! Your acting as if he is nothing, as if he's a burden."Silver hissed."He is a burden. He is worthless, he should never have been born. Ever. Get it out of my sight."The dark haired male turned around, walking away from the two, and leaving, never to be seen again.
A audible sob like noise came from Wolfram as he forced himself not to sob. He felt nauseous at the memory. He was hardly aware he was in a room full of people, and just faintly aware of the voices and chattering around.I can't do this...I can't....My mother is dead, and my father wants nothing to do with me. And Mapleshade has gone insane, and she was the only other person I trusted. Why am I so weak? Why am I so....so.....unwilling. So unwilling to accept help? Why can't I just GIVE IN FOR ONCE?! Then a voice screeched at the back of his head, painfully reminding him of the fact he never let anything go.No, NO! You're still, Holding ON! LET GO!

(And done)

Sherri bit her lip as she stared at Wolf. "So I found this," she mumbled, setting something on the table that contaminated the whole thing with all its filth. It was sticky, and still damp with a few black hairs stuck to it.
It still showed Indigo Alan, Enchantress and then her number.
"I don't know, I think it could help."

Lachlan froze, a forkful of lasagna half way to his mouth, his eyes stuck to Wolfram, who was glancing about, his hands curled into fists, one gripping his fork, digging it into his hand. A loud whimper had escaped his friend's throat, and pity flickered in Lachlan's eyes. He glanced at his mother-- River, then back to Wolfram. Man, I wish I knew what to say. Ergh. I guess sometimes it's best to not say anything, anyway. He barely took note of Sherri, right now, he didn't really care, and he ignored her.
~
River's eyes were glued to Wolfram, her head facing down towards her plate. At that moment, Sherri threw something down on the table. Her eyes slid over to it. "An Enchantress. Dangerous." She muttered quietly. "Do you know her?" She said a little louder to Sherri, looking back at Wolfram.

"Nope. She enchanted us. I don't think she was very trustworthy, but then, she seemed so trustworthy and nice. And then Wolf pulled a knife on her." Sherri gasped and cupped her hands over her big mouth. She hadn't meant to say that.
Emily raised both eyebrows at her, and looked back at River.

Wolfram let out a gasp, his body jerking, as if he was thrown back into the present. His breathing was heavy as he looked around wildly, his heart thudding in his chest. For what seemed like years, but really only a matter of minutes, he had felt trapped in a void of no return. He ad no sense of time or direction, only able to watch the memory play out before him, unaware of the people still surrounding him. He looked around with a wild, terrified look in his eyes. Almost like a trapped horse that wanted to flee. His gaze flicked over to the piece of business card on the table. With a snarl of anger, his pupils narrowed even thinner."She's a manipulative, evil, liar!"He spat.

River's head slowly turned to Sherri, her face blank. "She seemed trustworthy and kind because she enchanted you, kid. I've seen it first hand before with Enchanters and thought the same. She sounds dangerous." She muttered quietly so that Emily didn't hear her. Her eyes flicked to Emily. "Don't look at me like that, Emily. I don't know the half of what seems to have went down today." She said. To her, it seemed possible that she may be telling the truth. Although she had known about what Sherri had just said, she didn't know if she had been told everything.

"Your assumptions are no reason to pull a knife on someone, Wolfram," Emily said severely.

Sherri nodded. She didn't say anything though, her big mouth had already gone this far.

Lachlan felted chilled at Wolfram's tone. "He's right." He said strongly.

"She was enchanting people. And please, spare us-"
"Lachlan!" River hissed at her son, cutting him off.

"Let him speak, River!"Wolfram snarled, his anger boiling over the edge."Lachlan deserves the right to speak up."His voice had dropped from a yell to a low snarl.

"Oh and you! Shut your pathetic mouth, will you? I think your voice is starting to make my ears bleed. I had a very good reason to pull a knife on her! What would you do, if you had a deep, sinking feeling that she was going to harm you or your friends?"

Defending his defender. Still, Emily liked Lachlan, it wasn't his fault bad people followed him around.
"Do not speak to your elders like that!" Emily hissed. Sherri wanted to turn invisible. She always seemed to cause these things.
"Mother, by the way, she looked really scared of him," Sherri didn't like that he just yelled at River and his mother, so he took her mother's side.
"I know one thing, I felt my friends were threatened, I would not pull a knife. What could she do that would make you put that knife away?"

"I can speak to you anyway I like, you inconsiderate jerk!"Wolfram hissed."I pulled the knife because I found the need to. I felt my friends and the people around me where in danger. What would you rather me do, Let Lachlan, Or Sherri or Bleddyn get enchanted and killed?"

Lachlan's head snapped around to stare at Wolfram. He's done it now. Mom will have both our heads.

River slowly turned to Wolfram, her eyes cold. "Listen up, kid. I let my son speak, when he does not insult my guests. The only reason I haven't tore into you this far is because you are my friend's-- Silver's son, Lachlan's friend, and I understand you are hurting!"

Lachlan sank back, eyes darting from Wolfram, Sherri, Emily, and River.

"Say whatever you want to me, and call me names, just don't do that to River. She is your hoststess, you wouldn't want to overstay your welcome." Who is he calling an inconsiderate jerk, he's been the inconsiderate one the whole time? "I may be inconsiderate, but I know how to make first impressions. Not everyone is bad, no matter what they are, but anyone who pulls a knife is instantly considered dangerous."
Says Emily.

"That means nothing!"Wolfram snarled."My blood does not define me, and I don't want to be treated like it does!"He didn't care who he was talking to, and how he was talking to them.

Wolfram turned to look at her, the wild look in his eyes fading."Bleddyn....she's....wrong....right?"He asked, his voice strained.
