«We Could Be Legends»

Maryella stared at Misty wide eyed her face turning a dark red as she tried to suppress her anger. "You useless pup! I ought to teach you a lesson in manners! But right now that doesn't matter. If you don't listen to me, neither of us will live to see tomorrow. Wolfram!" She turned to look at the boy, he likely wouldn't recognize her, but she'd seen pictures of Silver's boy before. "I'm a friend of your mothers. Or was, I suppose. Tom and I were in charge of keeping that monstrosity from getting into the wrong hands. I knew when I saw them after you that something must have happened to your mum. So I gave those folders to your friends in the hopes that you could find a safer place to hide it, or destroy it entirely. But if the Pure get it first we're done!"
"Oh you ought to teach me some manners eh?" Misty snarled as she slowly shifted into her human form and towered over the woman. Her teeth bared in a demonic way. "You might not live tomorrow but I can and I will make sure of that. Now tone down the red face you deformed guppy, its a sign of weakness. "

Wolfram turned stiffly and slowly to face Ash, his eyes widened. "You don't know where Bleddyn is?" A sickening pit grew in his stomach at the thought of something happening to her. "She's not at school? I brought her there this morning." His gaze flickered to Conner for a moment, before looking back at Ash. He honestly didn't care what Conner thought about him. Oh God...please let her be ok....

"I heard Dyn a few minutes ago, she's somewhere in the parking lot, same for Pete and Enchanter." River stated, glancing at Ash. "And Coyote and her spawns are in that bush." She declared, pointing with her tail to the bush where a wolf's white, grey, and teal furred head peeked out of it, blue eyes unreadable. "I have no clue where Toby, Chicken, and Grace are." She muttered. "And All is asleep in Wolf's car, and Kiddo is... Where is Kiddo?"

“My mom is at home, as far as I know. I told my parents about Tayn and they decided to not go to work today.” Brisa replied. “I’m sure that Mom would be happy to help out.”

A giant wave of relief crashed over Wolfram, and he finally felt like he could breathe again. "Oh thank God." He breathed.
"If you're talking about me I'm right here." Taylor replied, walking up to them.

"There's Kiddo." River announced triumphantly, pointing at Taylor's face.

"You think Mikki would be up to it, even?" River mused.

Jessi was relieved when Wolfram stopped moping. She was worried about the others who had disappeared, especially Grace and Yris, since she had heard Frosty and Toby a few minutes ago. "Why is aunt Misty hiding in a bush?" She asked, staring at the bush.

"She's mentally unstable and hides in bushes a lot. You'll get used to it."

"Oh, okay. But why is Del & Zion with her? Wouldn't they want to leave the bush? I can't imagine it being comfortable." Jessi said.

Misty signaled for the kids to hop on her back again then padded out of the bushes. "Actually... Bushes are very comfortable to sit in." She said. "Is the situation over? She asked while tilting her head. Do we have everyone in their right minds?"

"For the last time, my name is Taylor, Not Kiddo!" She growled. "Also, Wolfram, Lily's going to be here in probably like two minutes. You're welcome."

Wolfram let out a groan, and look at River. "Kill me now."

"I'm always in my right mind, thanks very much." Wolfram growled.

"Er, no, Misty, they ain't. And yeah, sorta." River said, glancing at the suspicious van.

"And why do you think I care, Kiddo?" River growled at Taylor, lip curled and fangs bared, before glancing at Wolfram. "Tell me who to kill, and I will."

Misty peered at Wolfram from the corner of her eye. "Yeah sure Cat-boy. If ya want I can kill you right here since you openly asked so nicely," she sneered.

"Taylor. Kill Taylor first." Wolfram replied, hissing at Taylor.

"I mean fine. Kill me if you like. But you have a much better chance at winning against Mapleshade if you have me around to help." Taylor responded pointedly.

"He oviously likes me more than you, besides, everyone should consider it an honor to be killed by me, since I'm so awesome."

"Eh fair enough. The more psychotic folk we have the more fun," she grinned then looked at the van River glanced at. "We have company," she growled in wolf language.

"Really? Huh. Um, I don't think some people in our present company are ever in their right mind." Jessi said, and automatically looked at Wolfram.

"Go right ahead. I dare you. You won't have the guts to do it." Wolfram snarled, eyes glowereing.

"Test me again, Dragon-Girl." Wolfram huffed. "I'm really not in the mood for taunting."

"fair point sweetie," she said

"Yeah sure, believe what you want Wolf. In your eyes, I dont have the guts, but I definitely have the experience and tools to do it," Misty scoffed.

"And yet you just taunted me, eh?" Misty rolled her eyes and cracked her neck shifting her weight and growing a few inches.

"I kinda think I see that, Misty. It's Pure, five of 'em." River growled back in wolf language.
"Well, what are we doing about them?" Lachlan interrupted impatiently.

"I never called you out specifically. Besides, nobody wants to fight you, besides maybe Bleddyn. No smart person would waste their time." She replied casually.

"Just wanted to make sure you werent as blind as a newborn, Riv. Rip them apart?" She suggested to Lachlan

"Are you saying Bleddyn's stupid?" Wolfram snarled. But approaching footsteps alerted him. He looked up, meeting the bright green eyes of Lily. "Wolfram?" She whispered, looking horrified.

"I'm saying Bleddyn is wreck less and doesn't care." She said simply. "No offense Dyn."

Maryella, was surprised to see the kids from saturday back out side her shop congregating with several adults. She had been wondering how she was going to help him, when suddenly she had her self a small army dropped squarely in her lap.

She grabbed her old bat from next to her door, and wheeled herself out to the group. Giving a couple of the adults a curt nod, she skipped introducing herself and just got straight to the point.

"They've got Tom!" She barked, "We haven't got long they'll be after it."

"I am not blind as a newborn, Yote! Give me a little credit."
"Not everyone here can turn into wolves, Mrs. Hero. Or freeze things or move things with their minds." Lachlan uttered calmly. "And they the Pure have guns. Only one of us who has a gun is Mom. Plan?"

River's head whipped around to glare at the newcomer. "And you are...?"

"yea shut it coyote, your ego shouldnt get the best of you. That way it'll be easier to manipulate you." Misty snapped

Her question was met with a sharp glare. "I'm a not so innocent bystander. You got a problem with that?"

"I wasn't talking to you, genius, I was talking to the new kid. And yeah, I've got a problem with your sucky attitude. Why are you just sitting there holding a bat and glaring at us? Get."

"Actually I was about to ask you the same question. And what are you doing to my boyfriend? He obviously looks uneasy." Lily asked almost coldly.
"Lily....we're over, remember?" Wolfram rasped.
Lily looked over to him, her eyes softening as she saw his haunted and broken state. "What happened to you?" She murmured, completely ignoring what he had said. She came closer to him, and just hugged, him, burying her face against his shoulder. "You scared the life out of me, Wolfram! I thought something happened to you!" She whispered, almost sobbing.
Wolfram let out a soft whimper as she hugged him, whispering softly into his ear. His arms instinctively wrapped around her back, cradling her against his chest. He gave River a almost guilty look, before glancing down at Lily. "I'm sorry. But you need to go, now. It's not safe here. Just go, alright?"

Misty let out a huffing laugh, "but only a few people is easy to take care of. Just go for the eyes if you have a sword or really any piercing weapon. Then the arteries if you have claws or fangs." she said while licking her fangs, a low growl emanating from her throat and a wild look came and went from her eyes

Maryella's mouth dropped open, there weren't many that had the gall to back mouth her anymore. She lifted the bat and pointed the end at Brisa. "I saw you the other day." She growled. "The locksmith. The Pure have the Locksmith."

"You dont seem to be a bystander if you know all this," Misty remarked while side-glaring up at the girl.

Maryella rolled her eyes, and twitched her tail fin smacking it against the metal of her wheel chair with a loud clap. "We don't have time for this!" She growled. "My name is Maryella, but that doesn't matter! I said I wasn't an innocent bystander. I see you've brought along some not so friendly "friends"." She said shrugging an elbow toward the SUV.

"Dont get cocky with me you rancid bucket of chum," Misty growled. "You said you werent innocent, but a bystander. And honey I cant help it if I have some murderous, socialist, all human cult members always on my tail. " She tossed back her head and snarled at the fish girl

"He's my son's only friend-- Thus probably my son's best friend, and I'm talking to him about stuff you shouldn't worry about." River snapped, glowering at her. "Lily? Boyfriend? Wait, wait, wait. You're that girl who cheated on him? Wow. Gutsy to come here. I literally have no words for you. But listen to Wolfram, it's not safe here for you, kid. You have no idea what's going on."

Lachlan just stared at her stupidly.

Lily slowly pulled away from Wolfram, glaring at River. "Yes, I'm that girl. But I didn't cheat on him on purpose! It was a misunderstanding, and he never let me talk!" Lily growled. "And I'm not leaving. I'm staying right here untill I figure out what all this is about, and why Wolfram and half of this rag-tag group looks like they have been beaten up, murdured and raised from the dead. As far as I'm aware the zombie apocolyspe isn't happening."

Wolfram let out a defeated sigh, crossing his arms. "You aren't going to leave even if we do tell you, are you?"

"Nope!" Lily turned to him, green eyes glittering.

Wolfram snarled, throwing up his hands and walking away from her, towards Lachlan. "You're pointless, Lily! Utterly pointless!"

"Well to bad. I want to know what is going on."

So I gave those folders to your friends in the hopes that you could find a safer place to hide it, or destroy it entirely. But if the Pure get it first we're done!"

Jessi's jaw dropped. "You cheated on him? Wow, what is wrong with you? You don't just cheat on someone. If you find someone you like more than dump him. Seriously, you're pathetic." She snarled at Lily.

Wolfram turned around, brow furrowed in confusion. He stepped closer to her, tilting his head slightly. "Ok, ok...we have to get the Key now, then? And, who are you?"

Lily rolled her eyes. "So is he." She growled. "Look, it was a mistake, alright? Don't yell at me."

"Doesn't seem like a misunderstanding to me." River snarled, giving a deathly glare. "And since you won't leave, there's no reason to tell you, Child." She spat.

Lachlan whirled to look at Wolfram. "Tell me you have a plan. Mrs. Hero wants to just march up to the Pure van and stab them in the eyes and bite their arteries."

"No, I don't have a plan. No, we are not going to stab them in the eyes and bite their arteries. And Maryella, ok. And you aren't a no one, if you where a no one you wouldn't exist at all. And wow, my mom never interduced me to any of her friends." Wolfram took a deep breath, glancing at Lily. "Ok...um...get the key. And get rid of my ex, somehow."

Lily growled softly, narrowing her eyes. "Who are you even? Let me guess, his new girlfriend?"
"Oh no, his new girlfriend is some girl named Bleddyn." Taylor piped up, eyes glittering mischievously.

Relieved that someone had finally taken her seriously with out questioning more, Maryella relaxed back into her seat. "Well actually, you may want to rid yourselves of your tail. You don't want to lead them straight to it. We are trying to keep it from them."

"Ha, no way, he's not my type. Skinny, pale, unstable. Too similar to my brother. My name is Jessi, I'm the girl who's going to kill you if you keep talking and don't leave." She said, flaring her wings. She looked very threatening, considering she was over six feet tall in her heels.

"I know how to get rid of Child." River declared, to be quickly reprimanded by Finlay that she couldn't simply kill Wolfram's ex-girlfriend.
"Thank God, I am not stabbing another person in their eyes." Lachlan sighed, eyeing Wolfram. "We need to lure the van away and then get the key, quick. They could be waiting for reinforcements."
"Number one, my daughter is no one's girlfriend, and especially not his," Connor interposed dryly, emerging from the worrisome mass alongside Jessi and towering over her even. He fixed a scorching glare on the pathetic newcomer, not amused in the least by her unnecessary and irritating presence. Somehow, he found her even less likable than Wolfram, if that was possible.
"Number two, Misty, I'm with you," he added with an agreeable nod to the clique of antagonistic shifters. He considered shifting then- but, unfortunately, that'd only make him less imposing.

Virio had separated himself from the group a while ago, not withstanding their incessant debate about girlfriends, cheating, losing battles, depression, and insane wolves. He retreated to the parking curb a few parking spaces away from them and the van, before he pulled out the Pure substitute teacher's phone, turning it on. Everyone knew they were here. And frankly put, it seemed as if that group would lead to some form of internal destruction. With no clear leader or organization present, it was simply a mess of verbal attacks as the time went. However, he didn't judge...there were some decent people in the group, but he wasn't one to waste his time on explaining to the wolf boy he was emotionally unstable. Instead, he pulled out the phone, and began making some further notes on what the Pure were planning on his own phone, drowning out the noise mentally. While he didnt initially realize it, he did now. The Pure was an organization much larger than he thought it was...but with many more flaws. The phone served as gold to him, allowing him to decipher future plans and locations. In fact, he had already gotten information over three operations and three important locations the Pure operated out of.

"Ok...how are we going to get them to leave exactly? I mean we could just kill them...but Mapleshade might be in there..." Wolfram sighed, frowning.

"Skinny is a understatement. More like, skin and bones. Or just bones. He doesn't eat enough." Lily replied to Jessi, glancing at River. "Anyway, can you please tell me Whats going on?"
"I doubt Mapleshade is in there, if she was, she would already be out here choking you." Lachlan mused.

"Nope!" River said cheerfully. "Figure it out yourself, Child. I did."

"stabbing someone in the eye would be so easy though." Misty sighed

"I'll tell you what's going on. It's that I mean it when I said I'm going to kill you if you don't leave. Ya know, I ate my substitute teacher, so I recommend you listen." Jessi said.
Lily's eyes widened, and she backed up toward Wolfram. "Wolf! She's going to kill me! And she's a cannibal, she are her teacher!" She yelped.
Wolfram turned around to see Lily, who looked up at him with wide green eyes. Oh how it hurt to see her. How he wished they could still be together. "She's not going to eat you. Don't terrify her, alright Jessi?"

"How about we freeze the van over and freeze them to death?" Misty suggested, dry ice smoke pouring from her fingertips as she lashed her tail in an antsy way

"Um, ok Mr. Scary." Taylor replied, backing away slightly.

"stabbing someone in the eye would be so easy though." Misty sighed
"Misty has a point." River mumbled.
"You are not helping." Lachlan growled at her.
"How about we freeze the van over and freeze them to death?" Misty suggested, dry ice smoke pouring from her fingertips as she lashed her tail in an antsy way
"Sounds good to me!" River agreed, nodding.

"Yeah, Jessi, if anyone kills her, it's me."
