«We Could Be Legends»

"Well, you are a cat and he's a wolf," Bleddyn pointed out deviously. "It's kind of a natural hostility."
Wolfram's eyes narrowed even more, if possible. "Lachlan's a wolf to. So is River. Yet we get along just fine," he retorted, "I think he just doesn't like me. I mean....makes sense though."

"True." Bleddyn folded her hands behind her head and then leaned back with a blustery sigh. "Honestly, I don't why, though. He's generally chill. It's kinda weird." She was putting effort into quieting her presumptuous mind and just staying put in the verbal conversation for once.

"Do I look like the kind of person a dad wants his daughter hanging around?" Wolfram pointed out, glancing back at Ash and Connor, aware that Bleddyn's mother was watching them. "I mean, I'm um...not exactly the...most...uh...emotionally stable."

"What's really stable, though?" Bleddyn's shoulders rolled with yet another shrug. "He spent who knows how many years of his life in a freaking bubble and Mom...was involved in all that serious crap at my age. So I don't think either of them are really in a position to judge." Bleddyn wasn't really sure if her mom would bother tuning into a conversation only twenty feet away from her, but she wagged her tongue in Ash's direction anyway. As for Connor, he was safely fixated on the road.

"Still, I could see where he could come from. He doesn't have a clue who I am, where I came from, what I might do." Wolfram shrugged, shifting his weight to one foot. "Only that I'm just a someone who showed up out of no where, and caused a crap ton of issues, and got his daughter injured and kidnapped by some physcotic friend."

Bleddyn couldn't help but laugh then. "When you put it that way..." She trailed off, futilely trying to stifle her fool snickering before she caught her father's attention. "Yeah, guess I kinda get it."

Wolfram snorted in a brief moment of amusement, unable to hide a grin at her snickering. "I certainly wouldn't trust me in that situation."

"Eh, I honestly couldn't care less about anybody's background." Bleddyn briefly thought about getting up, but realized that the bumper was pretty much the only available seat and quickly reconsidered. "It's who they are here and now that actually counts."

"Guess you're right. I wish everyone thought like you." Wolfram muttered, a brief hint of bitterness in his tone. "If people didn't judge others for their background or who they are or what they look like or what their parents are, the world would be so much better."

"Exactly, Dog, exactly." Bleddyn's face changed to match the resentful sobriety and she bent her head just enough so that shadows crept into the very edges of her eyes. "We wouldn't be in this mess right now."
