"Oh wonderful!" Wolfram took his phone, carelessly shoving it into his pocket. "Because that's exactly what we need right now when we have a physcopathic murderer on our trail that is looking for a poison to destroy a entire race." Though somehow his voice was completely calm, but his body posture was rigid, like he was seething underneath. "Don't worry, it's just Mapleshade after all, not like she can do any harm!""Well, looked like it." Lachlan said cheekily, accepting the phone and beginning to dial River's number. "Thanks, Wolf." He murmured, before finally the phone began ringing, and soon River's voice slid through from the other end. "Uh, Wolfram? How did you get my number?"
"Not Wolfram, Lachlan. Where are you? We're already here and waiting."
"Stuck in traffic. I'm with Misty, Delilah, Zion, Jessi, Camilla, and Enchantress in that van. Should be there in a minute, but at this rate I'm considering running on foot there."
"Great. Er, I need to get off so that I don't kill Wolfram's batter. Do get here soon."
With that, he ended the call and offered the phone back to Wolfram. "Of course, they're stuck in traffic."
As the annoying wolfwomen finally dragged themselves into the van, a leadfooted Indigo spared no time. She floored the the gas pedal and zoomed toward the bank at very illegal speeds.
Sherri's eyes bulged out of her head, but Indigo slowed in very particular areas making her appear to any onlookers to be a calm civil enchantress driving a van with several inhuman companions. They were known to take charge. For better or worse.
Indigo eased into the bank parking lot and slid down a window.
"Delayed due to the two wolfies!" She shouted at the inhumans loitering in the lot.
She parked in a very civil manner and slid out the door, opening the other doors as well.
Indigo automatically slouched, feeling the hateful glances bearing down on her. If she looked less tall and imposing, people feared her less. And she was wearing a sweater and jeans. Those tactics usually worked on general crowds.
Indigo walked up to Brisa, trying to appear as unscary as possible.
"Have you got the key on you?" She asked, masking all nervous anxiety in her voice. This was very, very important for the Multitude.
"Putting you on," she whispered to Leona through her headset. She pressed a button for the record function.
"Not really," Indigo said. "I'm not one to complain though. I kind of signed up for the job of... this kind of stuff. Just never expected my whole race to depend on me. And a few other people. No offense, but I barely know you." She didn't mention that these were teenagers, of all people.Jessi climbed out of the van and sighed in relief, stretching her wings, almost smacking someone in the process. She had been getting claustrophobic in the van, and also impatient to reunite with the others. She flapped her wings, feeling the blood rush back into them. She noticed Indigo's unease. It seemed to be from something other than the Pure stuff. "Are you okay?" Jessi asked quietly.
"Not really," Indigo said. "I'm not one to complain though. I kind of signed up for the job of... this kind of stuff. Just never expected my whole race to depend on me. And a few other people. No offense, but I barely know you." She didn't mention that these were teenagers, of all people.
Sherri nodded sympathetically and stood by Brisa. "Wow, so you got the key, huh."
Indigo winced as the other girl walked away. Still, she was involved in business right now."It must be really stressful." Jessi said. After hearing the last part, she took that as a cue to leave her alone. She casually walked up to Jenna, and looked around the parking lot.
"Do not call us 'Wolfies'." River snarled, leaping out of the van. "And it wasn't our fault, you took forever to get here." She mumbled, sauntering past her and over to Wolfram, Lachlan, and Brisa, eyeing the key with mild interest. "We've got everyone here now, correct? Who all is going in? It'd be rather suspicious if four adults and eight teenagers all bumbled in there together."As the annoying wolfwomen finally dragged themselves into the van, a leadfooted Indigo spared no time. "I would volunteer, but I'm a bit out of the loop," Indigo admitted with an apologetic shrug, animating a loop with her hands."Do not call us 'Wolfies'." River snarled, leaping out of the van.
