”How did you come by them?” Indigo asked. Was he born with brittle bones?
“A mix of clumsiness, fights, and being a really stupid person that does really stupid things to himself.” Toby said.

”How did you come by them?” Indigo asked. Was he born with brittle bones?
Indigo raised an eyebrow. Toby didn't seem like that kind of man. Then again, it could be the meds that prevented those tendencies. It was actually kind of scary that Toby could be an entirely different person. ”And so now you’re a custodian,” she finished, not really sure what else to say.“A mix of clumsiness, fights, and being a really stupid person that does really stupid things to himself.” Toby said.

”Among other things...” Indigo mused, taking a subtle step backwards as well. Just enough space to think.Toby could see her subtle shift in body language, and took a small step backwards, giving her a look of guilt and concern. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-“ he paused. He wasn’t exactly sure what he did, all he knew was that it affected Indigo somehow.
He slammed the base of his hand into his forehead once, letting out a frustrated sigh. This always happened. Every time he would get close enough to open up to someone, he always found a way to screw it up.
“Yeah... among other things...” Toby said softly. He wasn’t sure how that related to anything.
Indigo was the first to see him, though she didn't recognize him at first, his clothes were so ragged. ”Officer?” she asked. ”Are the emergency first responders here?” She glowed in a way that would hopefully cause him to pay attention to him. Look at me... I'm pretty.Monday
Freddie woke up before the sun, still sitting at his desk. He hadn't expected he'd fall asleep. Yesterday had been a rough day for him. After going telling all those people that their loved ones were gone, he just couldn't go home. He felt responsible now to find out who the people behind this were. To find them and stop them. He'd stayed up he knew until at least 4 am before he'd dozed off.
He shifted uncomfortably in his chair, and leaned forward to look at what was still glowing on his screen. He'd spent hours last night looking up old information. Practically everyone that had been there last night had some relation to the "Heroes". What he had found were conflicting reports, some said the world would be lost with out the heroes actions, others said that they were to blame for countless deaths and were terrorists. He'd gotten a few names here and there, of the other people involved. And had used those names to track down acquaintances, coworkers, and family. Then ran background checks on all of them.
What was on his screen now, was a picture of a man. He had a slender pale face with a line that ran through his upper lip to the center of his nose, and golden slitted eyes. He didn't have any hair, but instead what looked like raised skin or scales on top of his scalp.
"This guy." He whispered to himself. "Thane, Gerald Lance. Everything points to him. He has to be the one behind all of this." Freddie looked over at the stack of post-its covered in hand written notes. Too much to really be useful now, he was just going to have to remember it all. The one person he knew he had to find, who hadn't been there last night. Now worked at an Ihop. More specifically an Ihop that police had been called to only two days ago just before the fight at the park. He may not have been there, but Gage Hero knew something about what was going on.
Freddie looked at the clock, it was only 5:30, there was no way he'd be at work yet. He kicked against the floor rolling his seat back. "Time to go find out what's really going on." He was breaking so many rules going on his own, especially on his day off, but after last night he didn't care. He was going to get to the bottom of this.
Freddie went to Gage's house but he wasn't there. He went to his work, but he wasn't there either. He spent most of monday looking for either him, or someone who could tell him where Gage was. By early afternoon the Ihop called him on his cell phone. Gage had called in and said his wife and kids had disappeared and he was looking for them.
Freddie pulled the post it note out of his pocket, where would he look? Probably at any of the houses of his friends. Their kids all seemed to know each other. He flipped though pulling out the one with all the addresses. Of all the others Misty had been closest with River, so that's where he'd go first. And that's where he found him, standing just inside the open door, staring mortified at the shards of broken glass, and smeared blood.

Freddie stumbled in the darkness his gun now gone, he was trying to be more cautious, but he was exhausted, and it was hard to see now that most of the fire had gone out. Smoke still hung in the air, and plumes of soot puffed up from the warm earth below his boots.
He followed his ears, is seemed a large group of people had gathered together not too far away, hopefully it wasn't the guys who had been shooting everybody. He poked at the bullet hole in his left arm again, hissing at the pain. Running in to them again would be a problem with out a gun. Thankfully his vest had kept him from a more serious injury, though now the zipper holding it together had faded away so it wasn't of much use, except to maybe keep him slightly warmer.
He approached the edge of the crowd cautiously, there were a lot of people, none appeared to be dressed head to toe in black. Though it was quite dark, but from the sounds of things they seemed to be civilians that had escaped the city. Human, and inhuman mixed together healers moving through a group of people who were laying on the ground. Freddie, stepped out from the trees, moving slowly toward them.
Freddie stopped abruptly staring into the darkness at what appeared to be the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. She knew he was police, which made things easier.”Among other things...” Indigo mused, taking a subtle step backwards as well. Just enough space to think.

”I understand,” Indigo said curtly.Freddie stopped abruptly staring into the darkness at what appeared to be the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. She knew he was police, which made things easier.
"No." He answered, pulling his eyes away from her to look at the large group of survivors. "Sorry. It's just me. All emergency services are still in the city." He eye brows twitched down as he began to recognize the people near by. He knew all of them, possibly better than they did themselves at this point, all except the woman who had spoken to him. She was a mystery to him.
"I've been looking for you." He said stepping forward, "I need you to come back."
(Oops(Monday - going in to Tuesday)
"Three days?" She whispered worry creasing her brow. She broke her eyes away from the still body, to look dully back at Crow. She didn't know how to answer. She didn't want to admit she was afraid to know. Afraid of the emotions that knew she wouldn't have the strength to hold back. She shook her head, raising her hands to broadly gesture to their surroundings. "I need to be here in case they come back. Not lost in the past."
(Ugghhh, yeah, wow. I'm falling asleep here. This feels like it took longer than an hour to write, sorry it took as long as it did. I'm gonna have to be done for the night.)
)Crow rubbed his arm. "Well.." he hesitated, "if you want to wait, you should. But I think you should try to find out eventually."Freddie stopped abruptly staring into the darkness at what appeared to be the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. She knew he was police, which made things easier.

"Uhh, not you specifically. I meant, all of you." Freddie adjusted his cap frowning at her, Crow, and Toby. He'd come here with a plan, but it wasn't going to work with out any weapons. "I- " Freddie looked between Crow, River, and Ash, they were the only adults here that were part of the original heroes. He sighed and rubbed a hand across his forehead smearing soot and blood. "I know who's after you. I had a plan. But, I don't think it's going to work now." Freddie sighed closing his eyes to try to concentrate. "Sorry I didn't sleep much since I saw you last." He admitted, despite knowing that saying that didn't inspire much trust in what he was saying. "I know who he is. But there isn't anyone else. Everyone in the police station when it fell are either dead or trapped. I'm going to need help to catch him. To stop this."”I understand,” Indigo said curtly.
”You need me to come back? For what?” Indigo took a step closer, peering at him.
"Okay, one moment. Who are you?" Crow asked, now looking directly at Freddie. "What are you taking about? Mapleshade's dead." He crossed his arms. "You sure you don't have a concussion?""Uhh, not you specifically. I meant, all of you." Freddie adjusted his cap frowning at her, Crow, and Toby.
