(It's my fault for missing that. I saw your post but I couldn't reply at the mo, then I got back late and only recalled Gar's recent So I'll answer now )

Janette followed Nora's lead. The houses looked rather strange to her as well, but assuming they were around the year 2800, it made sense for them to be odd.

(No worries like I often tell Nicky I am a very chill, laid back kind of RP person. I have two little kids so I get it when life gets busy and therefore don't mind having to wait a bit. I just wasn't sure if you saw it because I didn't reply to our original conversation like I usually do. )

"Alright that house on the far left is the one we looked through yesterday so there may not be much left in that one but we should check it anyways, in case we missed something. Then we will move to the rest of the houses in order unless anyone has an objection? Also keep an eye out on if any of these houses might be better then out cave. Ian thinks it might be better to be in a building then the cave, so we might as well see if any of these would fit the bill." Nora said as they approached the first house and she pushed open the door. She had to admit she liked the idea of a bed instead of a hard cold cave floor.

Nigel let the two ladies go through the door first holding it open for them before he followed. He was struck silent by how strange these houses were, they were nothing like the humble cabin he grew up in. The size alone was intimidating, how many people must have lived here he wondered.

"Anything's fine, Nora. We'll just follow your lead," Janette assured her. She stepped inside and looked around. It was definitely different and very interesting compared to the houses she knew. Maybe Ian would be familiar with them. Skirting some random upturned furniture, she made her way to what looked like a kitchen and began opening cabinets.

Nora nodded and watched the woman head towards the kitchen, she headed off towards the bathroom. She was hoping to find some more first aid supplies, they didn't need a whole lot of stuff right now but she was sure it would come in handy.

Nigel watched the other two start searching for supplies and for a moment he was unsure what he should be doing. Then he decided to head upstairs and look through the rooms up there. He went into the first room he came too which looked to be some sort of sleeping quarters, but much larger and more spacious then he was used to. He moved towards the strange bed to test it out, surprised by how soft it was. He then began busying himself with looking through any remaining garments and bedding supplies.

What she did find she stacked on the table-like contraption jutting out from the wall. She found it odd, however, that there was still so little food in the cabinets, and decided that there must be a pantry somewhere. Walking around the kitchen, she felt along the walls for a panel. She discovered it soon enough as she pressed into the wall with the palm of her hand every few feet or so. The metal paneling clicked then turned inward to reveal a pantry of canned and bagged goods. "Jackpot," she murmured, letting out a low whistle. Whatever had happened, the owners of the house must have been preparing for it, judging by the ridiculous amount of food stored.

(Keep in mind this is 3012, so let's get creative with this place )

Madeleine nodded slowly. "Je would love to," she said readily. She was eager to see their surroundings in the fresh daylight.

"Perfect," Ian said, clasping his hands together. "If neither of you protest, I say we leave sooner rather than later."

"Ich do nicht see a reason why wir should wait much longer, so ich am perfectly happy with leaving wie soon wie possible." Dierk commented simply, feeling determined to actually make himself useful in this group.

Madeleine stood up to follow, using the wall to brace herself as she regained her balance first. "Jade? Would vous care to join us?" She asked, smiling pleasantly at the girl.

"Behind a secret panel," Janette said, shrugging slightly as if it were the most normal thing. She dragged a sack of potatoes out into the dim light that the windows let in the kitchen. "These should come in handy," she said thoughtfully.

(Well, don't make it stupid with slave robots and levitation and cliche futuristic things, but with how technology is advancing and with how society is changing, what with health and obesity rates and the seemingly increasing oddities of gender and styles, and with how many Ipads, phones, game consoles, and other small digital objects that hold a world of information, you can kind of @Run Wild with this. But, still be realistic and stay within the possibilities of physics and science.
And the land, well, is covered in ice, but with how humans can quickly degrade land and how landfills can quickly fill up, you can make it as depressing and filthy and crowded as you'd like, or not. Maybe the land improved?...And then everyone died. XD)
