Dove smiled at her gently. "Good day, dear." She nuzzled her, and then drew her head back in disgust. "Gerbil, I believe you need a bath. Badly."

Gerbil crossed her eyes and looked at her nose, "I don't smell nothing"

Dove nudged her. "If you'll come along with me to the brook, I'll wash you - wash you well. And Squirrel will come, too," she added, eying Squirrel, who was grinning stupidly at her from the nursery cave.

"Squirrel smells! Does he have to come? He will make the water smelly!!!!" She looked at Piper eyes wide.

"I admit that I have missed him," Sandpiper said. "To be honest..." and here she cowered and looked down at her brown paws. "To be honest, I rather liked him."

Swan smiled, her eyes shifting to the ground in empathy. Nightingale leapt over the bushes dotting the border, and began stalking through the woods, sniffing and growling.

Dove nodded and said, "Come on. Let's go, children." She began to trot off towards the brook, looking back behind her ever so often to make certain that the two pups were following her.

Gerbil stuck her tongue out at Squirrel.

Bee squeled and chased after Squuirrel and Gerbil. "Wait! Wait! I need a bath too!"

Nightingale's glare followed a streak of grey as it bounded away, with the grace of a deer. She followed as quickly as she could.
