‘Silked’ White Easter Egger

Silkies lay eggs every day? I thought that they were not high production, I read that they were like 4 a week. I think that @ChloeSilkie08 means 'bigger' as in fully standard sized, instead of bantam.
I've heard plenty of stories about the occasional great producer. And isn't there a LF ish size and an xtra bantam one?

I kind of remember reading a thread from someone who was looking to breed standard sized silkies or something to that effect. It was maybe a month ago?

I found this ‘breed’ on MyPetChicken, a Silked Easter Egger. It is supposed to be a small standard and have Silky traits and lay colored eggs. It sounds like more than just a hybrid/cross, but not quite a full reproducible breed just yet. Not sure if it is of interest to anyone?

Does anyone have one of these? I’m curious about them. Not really a huge fan of the look of Silkies, but these look interesting, IMO.
I believe that @MysteryChicken was trying to breed brahma sized silkies.

Yes! Thank you! I thought of her thread when I saw those. Not sure if it would be of any sort of interest to her.

Obviously these are not near Brahma size, but supposed to be in the standard size range. BTW should I also tag her or is your tag sufficient?

Interesting how much discussion this has generated! I checked last night and at the moment there are no more of these chicks available for the rest of the year!

I think that the breed is meant to appeal to backyard flock owners with much smaller flocks in urban and suburban areas, as opposed to people that hatch their own eggs, have 20+ chickens, live in the country, have huge breeding operations, etc. I'd say the same for most of MPC. I'm only allowed to have 12 chickens and no roosters, so from most hatcheries the minimum is already too many. With smaller spaces many keep bantams, and since we can't have roosters the sexed ones are extremely useful, even if expensive.
