I kind of remember reading a thread from someone who was looking to breed standard sized silkies or something to that effect. It was maybe a month ago?

I found this ‘breed’ on MyPetChicken, a Silked Easter Egger. It is supposed to be a small standard and have Silky traits and lay colored eggs. It sounds like more than just a hybrid/cross, but not quite a full reproducible breed just yet. Not sure if it is of interest to anyone?

Does anyone have one of these? I’m curious about them. Not really a huge fan of the look of Silkies, but these look interesting, IMO.

I wanted to get them, but I ain't paying that much for a chick that might not make it through the mail

When it comes to their "exclusive to MPC" "breeds" the only thing I believe is that yes theyre gonna be way over priced.
Like the 95% chance of laying blue eggs. In other words we'II put the % high so you'll assume you'll be getting blue egg layers but if you don't we'll point out that 5% part.

And that way you buy multiple so you have better odds of not getting all normal colored eggs

I actually have one myself. Her name is Elsie and she looks exactly like a silkie just with an easter egger head. She has a beard but no crest or muff, also has feathered feet. Definitely one of the sweetest in my flock. She's also slightly bigger than a regular silkie. She lays basically every day a medium white egg. My grandmother got a rooster and he was a smooth feathered one with a crest. I would totally get again regardless of colored eggs.

So your grandmother bought one and it wasn't even silkie feathered?

So 0% blue egg layers and 50% not even silkied.
@34.95 per chick. Good job @ $crewing customers MPC.
They are $35 now?! It was like $18 when I ordered. I also think that they are getting more blue egg layers now as well. I haven't ever had anything bad to say about MPC.
