“Clearance Bin” at Tractor Supply

They are a mix.....silkies, frizzles, Americana(probably EEs),bantams, I think maybe a Brahma or two and something with a C that I can’t remember. Not something we have already though.
We have Brahmas, RIRs, EEs, Black Star, Wyandottes, Plymouth Barred, blue sapphire, naked necks and leghorns.

Yes I agree, but like you said she has seen chicks crushed by employees that just don't pay attention to what they are doing. I believe like the post person said, over stocking the tanks contributes to this.
That falls under my category of "a management failure," and a stupid one, but crosses the line of the venn diagram into "carelessness to the point of cruelty."

Oh, well I can imagine that better than a grown man walking around in one of those tiny brooders. It still must take a lot of carelessness to kill a chick like that.
She has just confirmed they are allowed 100 chicks per tank. She said employees just plop the feeders etc in the tanks with out watching for babies under them.

Well that's pretty awful. The one I went to last night was running very well. They had an extra tiny brooder set up for sick chicks and the girl who was grabbing me the chicks was asking me all sorts of questions about equipment I had, she checked each chick over for pasty butt as well. I have never seen anything like it. Just a week before that I had gotten 5 red sex links out of the bantam bin at another TSC. :th

That is like my daughter, she is very knowledgeable and caring even for the store animals.
