We have tons of garter snakes around us but we do also have some eastern milk snakes. The first day we had the chicks outside(in the coop) a eastern milk snake ran through the run and we killed it thinking it was venomous or something! I love snakes and eastern milk snakes are beautiful. The next day I was out snake hunting and guess what?! I nearly caught an eastern milk snake. I got a wicked bad bite though and it slipped into the rocks. About a month later I caught this guy just slithering along under the deck! I had never seen these snakes before and then I see 3 in a month! Ohh, that is a beautiful snake! I love his pattern.
The only snakes i ever get here in Washington are darker colored garters. I think i may have seen some kind of whipsnake here before, too.
