Exciting weekend for DUCKS!!!! I GOT MY FIRST EGGS EVER!!!!!!! I am beyond excited. I actually got them out of the pair I got for Christmas. I have that pair in a separate pen together because they are just not doing well. They are wintering hard and just haven't adjusted to my home as good as would be ideal. So I was unsure if they would even breed/lay. They were my first ones! Who knows if they are fertile, fingers crossed.

Also my breeding pens are in the works. I am very excited to them up and going and get my pairs/trios sorted. Can't wait to see how it turn out.

First eggs are the best!! I have one of those black containers from TSC for my calls as well. In the summer i use a baby pool but since the hose is off for the winter i had to switch to something smaller cause i have to haul buckets out there

I sold my white drake today.
But it had to be done for the future of my flock. And he went to a very nice older lady. He will have a good home.

Me too!!!!!
But I have 3 pairs. And if I allow one to sit on eggs, I'd have 3 drakes with 2 ducks. Those 2 girls would take a beating. So I did it for them.
