I watched someone die from sepsis. It sucked.
Mex had a cousin that was a day away from death from this.
It was a miracle he actually survived.
His wasn't started by a little cut though...it was something brewing in his gut area.

X2, I think it's because i was raised on a real 'working ranch' verses a 'dude ranch :lau lived with the bugs around all the time, no infections...knock on wood! :D

I fully admit that I am probably a bit too “sterile.”

I’m a bit OCD and wash my hands waaaaaaaayyyyy too much. Although the funny thing is I will also go outside barefoot and do other stuff all of which is probably way worse and way more likely to make me sick yet I wash my hands a hundred million times. :lau

But anyway, even so, I always sanitize every injury even small ones. You never know.

Just last week I got a big scrape on my arm from a piece of rotten wood and I ran in and washed it with soap and water and put alcohol on it. We didn’t have neosporin or anything or I would have done that but thankfully it’s been fine. But I don’t think I could ever not clean a wound lol I’m paranoid. I wiped it with alcohol like 3 times :lau

I didn't grow up on a farm, but there were enough animals around that we all ate our fair share of poop and dirt anyways. Yummy.
:gig:lau:gig yep! The first time I heard Darth Vader calling, I was sound to sleep...I grabbed my pistol and went looking for the 'monster' that was loose in the house! :lau
I'm used to extremely strange noises occurring at night (ever heard a chinchilla squeal?) but the Darth Vader noises still made me jump out of bed like I'd just been punched, lol.

 :th

OMG!

You must have crazy pain tolerance! Or just plain be crazy :p :lau

I would have probably been screaming and crying with both of those haha did the screw go through your finger!?
It just went in a little. My husband took a chunk of skin and other parts off his knee with a chainsaw. The scar is rugged looking, he was a kid and stitched it up himself because he was the kid his aunt relied on to do all the house chores and outdoor work.

You couldn't pay me to use rubbing alcohol on a wound.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I remember putting antibiotic ointment and a bandaid on a cut that was starting to look yellow and a bit swollen. That's the most I've needed to do, though.

Nope, never have had chinchilla's nor have I heard them squeal but that hissing sound made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, the first time I heard it, at 3am. :lau
I thought some creature from a B horror flick was loose in the house. :lau

I've never got a real infection from a cut either.

I haven’t either but that’s cause I always take care of it! Haha

Um, I don't keep aggressive animals!
The bites that I have received from animals have been barely more than scrapes and likewise did not require care.

I still say that requires care lol I get a lot of scrapes and scratches working with dogs/being around dogs so much and I always wash them right away even when I’m still over there ha who knows where those claws have been!?

OMG that sounds awful!! I’m sorry. :hit :hugs

I'd kill my animal if it bit me.

 for real!?

What if it was an accident!? Ha

I'm in a killing mood huh?

Everything/one is on death row.

:lau snap out of it!

Oh wow that’s amazing he lived!

Also a friend of mine had a hysterectomy last year and she got sepsis from the surgery... She got lucky too.

Oh wow that’s good she survived!
