I can hear my 5-6 week old quail roos out there crowing right now. Their clocks are broke.

I think they sound a bit like a whippoorwill. Sounds "calmer" than the "buckwheat-buckwheat" from the guineas too. My bantam roo isn't too bad, but we've got juvies up & crowing that are pitiful sounding.Oh boy! At least they're not as obnoxious as a chicken roo.

We have seven. Lucky we donāt have neighbors.Nope, they don't.Guineas sound so obnoxious to me that once I heard them, I decided not to buy them! They don't ever stop![]()

We only have 4 guinea hens. I just heard the ducks get started, followed by the guineas, and then the quail. It's like a chain reaction. Sometimes the goats & dogs start in as well!I like the rooster crows... they each have their own crows. Theyāre so funny! Plus, ours donāt crow all night as some do, so that does help. Also being old and a bit deaf doesnāt hurt.We have seven. Lucky we donāt have neighbors.
I'm not supposed to have cockerels, since I am in the city. Someone should genetically engineer a chicken breed so the males don't crow.
Oh I'm sure they've tried!
Watch, if it is ever successful it'll be a "naked-neck" or some ridiculously ugly breed!
