Hey girl, I've got turkey & quail in my house right now so I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. My DH helped with the creation of my pen, and it has spread gradually too....
I've got to finish my new Bobwhite enclosure before I can start on a new turkey coop..... yeah, I get ahead of myself too. Then I can use the Bobs old pen for Coturnix or baby chickens!!!

I have 3 goats fixing to kid anyday.... 2 other does & a buck... 4 ducks & 3 drakes... 60+/- chickens & 3 guinea... 12 Coturnix hens & 5 roos for breeding & 7 roos for butchering... 41 hatchling quailies... 7 Bobs... 3 turkey poults... & 2 dogs...

and a partridge in a pear tree!!!

Place one AFTER you FINISH building housing.

You can't keep ordering birds and pretend/trick yourself into thinking you are going to build them a house.

Build it first, before you even place the order.

You take the responsibility for all these little lives but you keep putting off getting up off your duff, going outside, and putting together all these super easy coops you’re talking about. Do it. Get up, go outside and work a.l.l.d.a.y. every day until you’re DONE. It’s not going to get done until you do it, and the best time to start is first light tomorrow morning.

Yeah I know she is and I agree with that part. And I also agree that I need to just get up and do it. Which is why I was already planning on doing it all day tomorrow. I know that’s 100% on me and it will get done this weekend. It’s supposed to be very warm.

I should have worked on it today and/or worked on some other stuff out there and there’s absolutely no reason why I didn’t or couldn’t have today. I won’t make excuses for that because there aren’t any. It was sunny. Below freezing the whole day but sunny. No reason I couldn’t have and I realize that’s a problem.

But the rest of the week, I was not putting it off purposely. I dog sat for literally the entire day Monday, she couldn’t be left unsupervised at all, and I worked yesterday too. Yesterday I was done a bit earlier, late afternoon, but by then it was getting dark and I couldn’t have done anything anyway. Tuesday was crappy weather. So, for this week at least, I genuinely could not have worked on it any sooner than today. And I didn’t. And that’s on me. But I’m getting up first thing tomorrow and working on it.

I really can’t explain what happened the previous weeks when I probably could have and should have worked on it.

But this week I genuinely couldn’t have but it’s the only week that actually has a real reason.

But it will get done this weekend for real this time, no talking about it.

That said, I’m not gonna build the other coop anymore since I’m cancelling the order anyway. I’ll just build the coop for these ones and be done with it.

I would love goats or sheep eventually but that probably won’t happen here. Gonna have to wait a while on that.

I used to want ducks and still do eventually I think but they’re sooo messy.

Right now I mostly just want more chickens and a dog. Finally decided to be smart and wait on both though.

Very true! And I think I need to prioritize/plan. Like for example, I wanted to get goats last year or potentially this year but I also want to move out eventually as well as save my money so it’s really not smart. I’ve wanted them for forever though so a little more waiting won’t hurt.

I do think I will get a dog at some point this year though but probably not until much, much later in the year.

Can’t even consider that right now.

Main focus atm is finish the coop and/or selling the chicks and a job.

I just candled the two eggs from my hen, and neither one are clear! One of them has something floating around, though. That one's no good, right?
