I remember you questioning me about raising pheasants and you were worried about the bears....I didn't know you have put up electric fencing.
Regular electric fencing would just piss off a bear....needs to be a considerable shock to keep them out.

Don't worry, we installed it specifically to keep bears away. We put up electric last fall after a tense few weeks where there was an aggressive sow making the rounds through all the coops near us.

Banty has the chicken, quail, goat, and duck bugs, and is currently coming down with the peafowl and pheasant ones too.

Still here, but as I only have one, I probably can't count it as a bug—yet.

Smart. Ours was a sow with two babies who had been in the area all season and just got progressively more bold until she got the electric fence and firecracker treatment simultaneously, and hasn't been seen since. We'll see how early spring goes. She charged our neighbor when he was dumb enough to approach her in our yard

Stupid thing was we *had* all the pieces for the fence, we just hadn't set it up yet that fateful weekend
