You don't have to wait until it gets dark. I have a bathroom with no windows that is completely dark with the door shut.

exactly!! I just go in a hall or super dark room without windows or if it does have windows, close the curtains, or go in a closet. Plenty of dark areas to candle in the daylight. Also if you have a super bright flashlight that helps too.
