I just set 14 HG from my SSC pen. I've been getting a lot of clears and a few mutants so I'm trying to figure out which pen they're coming from. Next week I'll put however many eggs I've collected from my mixed pen in to the same little incubator. I have a small hatcher so I can move the eggs that are ready for lockdown out and keep turning the others. It's so convenient having two incubators and a hatcher.

I am definitely getting those quail eggs on Saturday. They do not separate their quail colors, which I don't mind because I am just looking to get nice colored breeders. I just want eye candy for breeders, I am not really concerned if they are a mix.

When you say mutants what are you getting like deformities or something else?

Yeah. In the last batch I had a bug eyed one and one with two butts. Someone that I sold eggs to got a bug eyed one too.

Edit: If they're coming out of my SSC pen, I think I know which one is responsible. I introduced a new roo to the bunch a few weeks ago.
