QB#17 went to lock down last night.
55 started
-11 clears (yes, I didn't candle until lock down) and all from the same hen. Someone was playing hard to get.
-1 middle quitter. Some vessels, but mostly clear and way behind the others.

43 eggs to lock down with hatch starting Tuesday to Thursday.

The Rosetta kids are starting to crow. Out of 5, 1 is wild color and he is crowing. The other 4 look the same and aren't crowing. Will a Rosetta male over non rosetta females give sex linked females? I didn't think so, but still hoping for 4 girls. Unfortunately, they are all small. Not making weight for the program.

I'm going to have to order eggs. Shizzle sticks.

I find it interesting that statements are made, but no one questions the readings. Like the doctors saying this one little pill will cure you. The side effects are terrible, but worth the risk to the doctor to make the statement it'll cure you.

I also have issues with them prescribing crap after one test. Your cholesterol is high. Take this pill. No, I had a grease burger last night and for breakfast I had spam, spam, spam and bacon.
Imagine that. Diet affects cholesterol. It dropped back down after eating blackeyed peas and other natural cholesterol absorbing food. Or should I say real food.

Yes, caveat emptor or take everything with a grain of salt.

Seriously, with all the broilers in the freezer, I'm good for this year. I'll down size to a small laying flock and call on you about December? Crazy Lady is still on the quail egg kick so I can't not have quail.

So strange. I was planning quail meat this year and was blessed with broiler chickens. Between the sales and the meat, the quail have done better at paying for their food than the chickens have this year. We are down sizing everything. Except the freezer.

How were the smoked quail stuffed jalepenos? I may be getting a smoker after the 4th.

My quail chicks are only three weeks old and I swear to God, I just heard one crowing from the rooster cage.

Checked the quail 40 minutes ago and nothing but slight pips in 8 eggs I could see, just went back in and saw one just hatching and then got to sit and watch a second hatch right after! Impatiently waiting for more to come, brooder is ready but I am limiting opening as much as I can and I’m not removing any until totally dry and multiples to try to keep humidity as stable as possible. It’s jumped up to 72% with the hatches but no condensation so I’m just going to leave it be since I have so many close to hatching.
