The 6 new layers (escapees) are home grown white wings. Pretty mottled coloration. Amazing how consistent the pattern is from one hen to the others. The mothers are the white and the caramel. It is time for new blood, but I'm not in a hurry. The mothers are a year old now. Also, past their peak. The male is from the last Set1 hatch, so he is closer to 6 months. Age isn't an excuse for him, but the older girls may have issues even if they are laying eggs.
This breeding business is as complicated as I make it. Fun to puzzle through.
