➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Found someone locally selling 15-17g jumbo eggs.. we shall see if they hatch. Some had been stored pointy end up  I think just to fit in the carton. I only have two hens laying 15g eggs right now.
My HGs are in here too, hopefully I get some falb fee hens this time around!

Pointy side up is an acceptable method of storing eggs. If they are stored pointy side up there is no need to turn them during storage.

I agree, when I collect to set for myself, I just put them all in a bowl going every which way, and I set when I fill the bowl after a few days, and I’ve never had an issue.

Hah! I've been so careful tilting my egg cartons every day, oh well.
That is the proper method if you are storing the eggs big side up. Storing them pointy side up inside of a plastic bag is a specific method for longer term storage. Eggs that have been stored using this method have been shown to have 80% hatch rates after storing for 28 days.

It has also been shown that turning the eggs while being stored this way does not benefit them.

Can you cite the sources of this method? All the literature I have read or seen, says 'pointy end' down. Just curious!
