19. The pip that zipped bit it.

Nothing on the other 7 this fine morning. These were all dark at lockdown. Late quitters? They have until Sunday. So starting late Thursday with pips. Friday morning had 15 hatched. Friday afternoon we got to 19.

That's pretty great! Mine is done, too. Little kicker passed away at some point without pipping No one who hadn't hatched by yesterday morning made it. Interestingly, one of the two that pipped and then died and the kicker were both from the same pair - both of their eggs made it to hatch and then died. Further testing warranted - they have five siblings in the next batch.


BUT guess what....it's LOCKDOWN AGAIN! O.O 24 going in this time.

I have an albino.

I was aware they popped up occasionally in silver lines, but I very much was not expecting this No idea who the parents are since it's from my shipped batch.

Healthy seeming little guy. Might be mostly blind, seems to get lost every time I turn the overhead light off.

I doubt I will breed it. They have Issues. But I hope it's a hen so it can join my pet/laying flock!

There are 2-3 albinism genes in coturnix, I must review my dear pdf again...
