Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
Also - eggs are hatching today! It's technically Easter Monday (or that's what my phone calender says) so I'm going to fudge a little and call them Easter chicks.

My personal experience with hatching eggs has been...not amazing, to be honest. We've generally had abysmal hatch rates - like 20% has been typical. I figured it was maybe just me, but now I'm wondering if it was either just...winter, or if my egg sources have been crap, because the TOF eggs are going absolutely nuts with hatching. I think I've even received a black and maybe a ginger? It's very exciting.

Good lord, I'm so sorry to hear. Who does this sort of crap?! Hope you can recover most of your birds!
A couple neighbours came over to help me catch birds, but I think I lost 20-25 of them.

At least my calico fee appear to have all stayed in their pen!

Wow Sorry that happened. I hope you can catch your birds.
I think I've caught as many as are going to get caught. If I'm lucky there are still a few hiding inside the greenhouse, but the ones that got out are most likely gone.

If you have a good Wi-Fi signal outdoors, this camera is reasonably inexpensive and easy to set up.

You could buy a couple to get both sides of the greenhouse and maybe catch them if they try again. I don't know what the laws in Oregon say about video recording, but anyone who's willing to do that to your greenhouse may be willing to do worse.

They also sell one in black for a bit more money:

I actually already have the cameras, I've just been trying to figure out how to get them mounted in the greenhouse. I'm going to use duct tape if I have to so I can get them mounted today.
