Yes. Regular quail are 6-8 ounces cleaned.

Bottom line are big quail. Faster growers. Bigger eggs. Selected and optimized for the desired traits. Then commercialized and marketed.

They are a variety of jumbo (aka just big), but a specific one. They're under the umbrella of jumbo along with stellar jumbos, texas a&ms, etc.
