6 girls to the one boy but it is clearly obvious he has a few favorites. Three to be exact. Those three have slightly damaged head feathers.
The other three have perfect heads.

My babies...I am moving one boy with just four girls today.

Mine loved their hidey holes! I had a small dog travel kennel that I split the top from the bottom and but both pieces down like caves and had a 25 gallon plant pot from a tree we planted and cut the pot in half and tossed it on the ground like caves. I would go out to the pen, lift up the cave, grab the eggs and put the caves back. They loved them.

More experimentation is probably warranted. I think mine think I hide snakes in things before I give them to them.

Better luck next time Kullas. Maybe a different breeder will have better fertility rates.

Thanks. There is a guy I work with that talked to his brother in law. He wants to get out of quail and stick to just chickens. So this weekend I may have a insta covey of quail.

I might have to try this trick. My favorite male balded his girl's shoulder completely in the span of one afternoon. That's how you get your girlfriend taken away, good sir.

I can't wait for my little'uns to finish growing out. More hens for everyone!

6 perfect babies this morning
1 yella stripy, 2 yella, 3 brown.

3 eggs in the bator (possibly only day 15 for them)

The 1 egg I dropped last week was dead and has been removed.

Do it, it works!!! Vaseline or something slippery would work too. In a panic, lanolin was the first thing I thought of.

Make sure you watch, it's hilarious seeing the Mr get a break full
