I have had a few like that. They either die day 1 (I often suspect double lethal gene dose) or feather out fine within a day. Just a little undercooked!

Some color genes are lethal (or close to it) when birds get two copies, one from each parent. Blue/silver and at least one of the golden genes, for example.
