Depends on the brand, some are as high as $200 and up. Brinsea makes a spot checker that has that kind of accuracy and is around $30 only thing is it's a spot checker

I don't know if I can convince Santa to spend that much but I am going to try!

The Brinsea is good but if left on continuously the batteries drain fast and the accuracy tends to fluctuate. Great to spot check temps, though.

In the lab we use NIST calibrated and certified thermometers. The system we use to alert for temps going out of range is called REES.

They have a pretty good customer service too. If you have a hard time finding something, they can often help. I've done that before.
