➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I’m so glad that your bottle has some dripping down too.

It’s finally above freezing overnight tonight. It’s been in the thirties for about a week.
I almost cleaned it before I took the picture.
Almost.

I'm sad I reminded myself about being gone for two weeks pretty soon. :hit

I am pretty stressed about finding a farm-sitter. The dog will get boarded ("boarded" by a nice vet tech who runs a dog day care out of her house and spoils the heck out of him. He always looks torn about coming home again, the little traitor) but I have 3 other species of critters to try and find someone knowledgeable in (I mean, minus my rabbit snails, but they're not exactly high maintenance).

I am planning to cyclically sell/cull down to about 60% of current bird population before then, and then breed back up through the next fall/winter/spring and then down again.

This means I also have to begin getting rid of ~gasp~ colors I only have one of soon. :duc

Can you just stay home instead or going?

Heck no CC gets her crazy on there so it doesn't leak out the rest of the year. :ya
Maybe the day you have to leave will get here sooner than you think so you won't have to stress about it too long.

Is there a way to rig something up so the nice helper you find doesn't have to come by as often?

It WILL get here too soon and holy moly you have no idea how much work I have to do before then. We host ~12 people and take care of their basic needs - incl water - in an environmental where you would die in 12-24 hours without shade or hydration (not actually, of course, with so many lovely people around, but it's still stressful).

And all the gear for it is in a storage unit 5 hours away cuz we ended up taking a year off, and then moving. We have to unload our big trailer, drive it down there, load everything up, and bring it back up the mountain again.

Oh yeah, 100%. I usually try and make it so everyone can go ~4 days between visits if they have to. The cats in particular are very used to us being gone for long weekends but I just always stress that a bird or rabbit waterer will malfunction in that time. I lost a nice hen to what I think was dehydration when we were gone a while ago (the only empty waterer was theirs) and I'm still guilty about it.

Sorry, scratch that! Shelter, kitchen, and snacks for 12 but last 4 years we have been supplying water and electricity for between 25 and 40 people.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm sorry I stressed myself out too badly

I have to go plan things
Don't die on us.
