I think. Most of the celadon we got from jmf had speckles? :duc
@CoturnixComplex correct me if I'm wrong

About 50/50 looking back at the pics. But none heavily marked, so idk what the line of "bad" is. That's interesting though!

They were real small, smaller than any other group of eggs that went in, which might account for the high rate of issue chicks compared to other groups too.

Keeping totally recessive genepools like that healthy long term is real tricky. You've gotta juggle a lot of variables that need simultaneous maintenance/improving and there's more downside to outcrossing at all than normal :/

I'm excited to see what comes of the slightly pared-down genepool!

Side note, lookit my weird eggs of the week.

No, that hen is not a celadon layer! They just like to be confusing. The other does lay solid white eggs pretty often though (not usually a double like this one).

You're all making he hungryyyyy.

Yes to pickled eggs! But omg the peeling.

I wish the instant pot trick worked with such tiny eggs but I feel like they'll be overcooked by the time it even gets up to pressure.
I was using vinegar to remove the shells, but somehow quail eggs are easier to peel than chicken eggs.
 I also let Duckling do most of the eggs.

Competitor that is pretty good also. Made in Ville Platte. This is for Kiki and Turk.

Ive had that one too its not bad but i prefer the extra hot tony's (that i ran out of on Tuesday)

The funny thing here to me, Cajuns are usually salty enough without extra seasonings.

Yes i am. You go ahead an fool with me this early in the AM if u feel like theres enough distance between us

Agreed! The quail eggs peel in long pieces. i always compare it to a potato skin when using a peeler

Pickled beets are da bomb with onions!

I need to try some beets!! Both regular and pickled. Never had any before I don’t think. There’s a lot of things I haven’t tried. :lau

I had to throw away everything with salt.

It must be a big thing down there and only down there cause I don’t think I’ve ever seen it here haha but then again I’ve never looked. Now I must go find it. :lau

Oddly for some reason I think I’ve heard of that brand before. Idk why or how though.

Huh that’s so interesting that the quail eggs peel so easily!!

And do they have a less hot version of that stuff?

That sounds like a challenge! And fun! I'll meet you half way. Eunice or Lacassine? If we meet in Iowa, we can get some Rabideaux's sausage. Baton Rouge has some good eats too. If we go to Ville Platte, we can see if Fred's on Main street is open. You know any good spots in Lafayette? I could ask Ms. Guillot, she's from there.

Kiki - what's a good spot in Eunice? Besides the Holiday Inn at the airport? Or Rayne or Welsh. Wife has family in Welsh I could ask.

Whatcha wanna do, cher?

Yep, some of us complained that the regular wasn't spicy enough. They accepted the challenge and got better. :D

Nothing like Aunt Laura's ChowChow, but you can buy this in the store. You gotta ask Aunt Laura if she has any left. And chances are she doesn't.

How was cajun dancing invented?
Some poor soul was eating crawfish and didn't wash his hands before going to the rest room. :D
