➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Falb Fee lockdown has begun! :wee

I have 7 of the 30 marked with frowny faces (obvious enough early quitters for even me to tell), but for some reason I can't seem to throw them out until after I'm sure everyone has hatched.
:wee

QB#5 has 4 babies. Pumpkin that the layers are enjoying

It appears to me that you have 1 white, 5 wild type, the ones with 'racing stripes', 3 red breasted blues, the dark ones, and 5 or 6 that maybe silver or pied. The grayish looking one is for sure a silver. Can you take another pic now that they have had time to 'fluff up', much easier to tell when they have dried out.

Ill be glad to share more pics :lau but u told me exactly what i needed to hear, thanks!

Is the hatch done?
Yes.
30 started
25 infertile
1 mid quitter
4 hatched.

Jumbos reach 6 weeks and Zac saying they start laying then. Wait 2 weeks for jumbos or start Batch #6 with QB#1&2 eggs? coops...

I put the box with the babies down and turned around twice. One got out. I search the close area and nothing. Search the outer area and nothing. The dogs are watching...

I turn back to the inner area and there she sits. I had kids that would do the same magic trick. We are not amused.

I put the babies outside at 24 hours old. Temperature is 84°F with 67% humidity and they are eating, drinking and exploring their box. (after one explored outside the box) No heat lamp, no huddling, just happy little peepers. About to insert them into one of the quail condos.

Watched Myshire video and Zac recommends 3.5 birds per square foot for regular and 3 birds per square foot for jumbos. I'm doing better than I thought. Zac also said 6 weeks for eggs from Jumbos. Interesting.

So you had added some cots into your count :lau But here are the 9 buttons.
3 blue/red
2 wild type one with mostly yellow head? Will it be tux?
1 white
2 silver
That leaves one who is def grey but has stripes
Try to take pictures every other day or so (or every day) of the different colors till they are fully feathered. Then you will know for future hatches what they will feather out as. It should only take about 8 weeks. :D
