➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

A diluter gene and a wild type maybe(im not good at genetics,) but i know It is a stable color that breeds true when bred to its own color and theyre feather sexable too, either a clear breast or a spotted breast would by boy or girl. Ive gotten some in breeding one with my wild types.
Clear breast is what?
And spotted breast is what?

Do these laws apply if you just buy in the eggs and incubate them yourself. Hope that's not a stupid question.... :idunno
Btw... I've got about 6 pipped eggs now....:ya
:jumpy
That's what I want to do. I don't want live birds, just eggs but I know nothing about the laws for quail since I've never owned them.

Not in my opnion. One point of my farm is to get away from the mass production techniques of the hatcheries. If more people farmed then the need for the things they have to do to the animals would be lessened. I would look for another small breeder who does have the NPIP and AI certification. Legally they must have the AI cert if theyre out of state. I couldnt do it this year as it was an extra $135 and id already put out over $250 on the gnat fiasco.

That makes perfect sense! Completely u understandable. :hugs

And I’ve been trying to be a little bit more self sufficient. Not exactly super successful but I do have the chickens and a big garden. This morning my breakfast/brunch was almost entirely homegrown. :D a fried egg from one of my chickens (there was only one in there or I would have had more or scrambled it lol) and a sweet chocolate pepper from my garden that I cut up and sautéed/simmered once olive oil. :D I did also have sautéed spinach as well as a smoothie with collagen powder, spinach, frozen berries, natural PB, a banana, a little cocoa powder, and some water, none of which is from the garden but still. Most of it was. :D I would have had spinach and other lettuce this year but forgot to plant it :lau

I would love to be able to have a rooster and breed by own chicks but don’t think it’s possible here. :hit

But maybe.

Been debating getting a Leghorn roo to make super layers or an EE roo cause they’re so docile and for the colored eggs.

Wildlife Management has permits for personal ownership of wildlife and a different permit for commercial (if you plan on selling them), in Oklahoma...

Probably better off buying from a hatchery then?

I know nothing about import laws, I order all my chicks from a local farm that orders from a hatchery.
Don't not tell Elk but if I actually had fertile eggs right now I'd send you some.
