Nasty. I don't envy you there. I far prefer the regular snow that we have.

Yeah me too! I actually hope we get some regular snow. But of course with it being in the 50s tomorrow, it will rain. Then when it gets below freezing, that will all turn to ice. And I think it is supposed to snow a teeny bit too. But ice/freezing rain/winter mix is the WORST!! And dangerous. I might just stay home haha

This 20 mph wind feels great too with it dropping temperatures today.
5am it was 60°F, now it's mid 30's, supposed to be in the teens by morning.
Do the quail need any supplemental heat, or should snuggling be sufficient? They're 4 weeks now.
Another crowed while I was out there, he's in the same pen as the other crower. This one is the white one with the odd patterning on it's head & back.

At four weeks, I'd give them some extra heating since they're not fully feathered yet. Mine are about the same age. I kicked them out into a coop last week, and tonight I plan to leave them outside without heat for the first time. It's only supposed to get into the mid to high 40s, though. It's been low 40's for the last week and I've left them with a heat lamp.

I need to find some time to revamp my button enclosures and make a few more. I have a pair of sisters, and their brother is with a hen I hatched from a shipped egg. She set on a clutch without me knowing and hatched 4 babies. Two made it to adulthood and look just like her. They are almost the same size so I need to move them before I can't tell them all apart.

Here's a picture the the buttons. 5 normals, one red breasted.
