I pulled my grey cinnamon button chicks out the hatcher last night. 13 hatched out of 20. Not bad considering I goofed and thought I killed all the chicks. It looks like a decent mix of wild type, blue face, and even one or two red breasted. View attachment 1959437 View attachment 1959438

Mine are all over that.
I think it's because I am in everyone's cage multiple times a day. They are used to being messed with so it doesn't scare them.

I figured. I'm at work from sun up to past sun down, so I'm messing with all of them in the dark. I'm the bright light that brings food now.

On a brighter note, the 12 pullets are giving 6 eggs a day. Small, brown AND delicious!

Need to make a frittata.

I am 100% sure it makes a difference with being able to mess with them often.

I can just picture that now. Taking one to Petco on your shoulder. Quail instead of a parrot.

I don't take them out of the cages. They are quick to fly somewhere and the dogs are quick to play.
