Yep!That is from before 1-800 numbers existed.
I remember having to dial 0 first so that the operator could connect you to your desired number.I remember having to dial 1 before the number even if it was just calling across town.![]()
Yeah, that too!I remember having to dial 0 first so that the operator could connect you to your desired number.
They have this new thing... it’s called a whiteboard?I draw a circle around everything from one year, date it, and then pick a new slice of unmutilated wall. If I ever have to sell this house, I'm going to have one heck of a repainting job on the walls!
I obviously am a newbie for necessary records keeping. I have no idea what I should be saving. I like using an actual calendar, but I think I need one the size of my livingroom wall!I don't need reminders to candle or when they are going to hatch...I keep good track of that...I use the spreadsheets to keep track of breeders, where my birds have come from, number and species of eggs shipped, number and species of eggs bought. Number of birds sold/age, gender. Which pens have a particular pair I'm breeding for certain traits, that sorta things. I write all that down in a notebook then transfer to computer but sometimes it doesn't get done,so at least I've got it if I can find it.

It was just funny, looking at the phone and everything I'd just reentered was POOF gone and like magic the other data was back! My android does it's own thing all of the time, I hate my cell phone more & more everyday. I like the way Hatchkeeper reminded me of lockdown dates. I'll hafta figure out to use it better after the update. If you read the link I posted in a previous post. https://9to5google.com/2019/12/14/android-apps-data-loss/ This data loss is the result of a Android System bug where the Android developers forgot to copy data to a new location when they released an update. So now they probably fixed the bug and that would copy your existing data to the new location overwriting your new data.
The HatchKeeper update is getting closer to done. Hopefully it'll solve more problems them it creates.![]()
How long have you been mastering your poultry records keeping skills? I hate trying to keep records, I just want to look at & listen to the pretty birdies!!!I just write the important information on the calendar. The calendar stays in the same place on the wall just like the phone does. I also use an excel spreadsheet to record hatch information.
I'd stretch the coiled phone cord until it was straight and I'd be sitting on the floor in a closet talking for hours. We were on a party-line!!!!You have a phone on the wall still? That is so neat.
Gosh I remember being a tween trying to walk into another room while on a corded phone hanging on the kitchen wall...I'd walk just a little too far sometimes and pull the whole thing off the wall. My mom used to get so mad.
Except around the corner and into the nearest closet....Sorta like this?

People keep trying to get me to use digital calendars and I keep being a grump about it. I just don't feel like having to go over to the computer every time I want to see what's going on in the next week, you know? Plus, I trust Google with my information like I trust a hyena with a baby.
I need to see a photo image of this wall...... just saying!I draw a circle around everything from one year, date it, and then pick a new slice of unmutilated wall. If I ever have to sell this house, I'm going to have one heck of a repainting job on the walls!
I am a dirty old manand make no pretenses about it.
Oh, and when we finally got "satellite" we were really living large then! I was the official "channel changer" so I'd get to go out in the knee deep snow to crank on the handle to change the direction of the receiver!!!! Good 'ol days my arse! I hate the TV too and well as the Cell Phone!!!guess i’ll reveal my age a bit here but I grew up with rotary on a party line with my grandparents who didn’t have indoor bathroom until I was around 8. there was no “city water” or “central air” or “cable tv” until i was an adult! if it didn’t rain enough, our water came on a truck!
It gets "accidentally" wiped far too often—and requires me to mount it, which means I need to get out the sheetrock hanging stuff which is too much work. They have this new thing... it’s called a whiteboard?Or there’s the ever popular chalkboard option. Or chalkboard paint. I sometimes write on the wall too, but that’s different. I never got around to painting that wall.
I need to see a photo image of this wall...... just saying!
