➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I did that and it still did it hah

Although I guess most of it wasn’t actually the incubator’s fault but still. Some of it was.
Do I need to remind you you didn't start with calibrated thermometers missy?

I give them egg and oyster shell. It's available at all times to them. I'll try threatening to butcher them. :lau
That always works for me!!! Hatchet therapy!!!:lau
My fee eggs have shipped! :wee:celebrate
WOOHOO!!!:celebrate
I'm way far behind in the thread and trying to catch up. Was anyone else able to help out?
@BantyChooks
I know nothing about Button coloring, I'd be pretty useless!
I did tell him about the forums. He sounded interested, so he might join. I'll send him a message and tell him that we want pictures.

I set 27. I have the 60 fee eggs arriving soon, probably on Monday. Good thing I have more than one incubator, huh? View attachment 1993678
:thI'm trying to work it out in my head right now how I'm going to finagle getting my eggs into an incubator, that is currently occupied ....
:lau Good point! I just thought you were supposed to run it for a few days first to warm it up haha
I just keep mine running, except to clean it.
You’re so organized. :th :bow
:thWell, I lost all my hatch information a while back...... so now I back it up immediately & after any data entry.

Nah, I know that. :lau

I was gonna include that part and the other details but decided not to type a novel this time and deleted it all. :lau

I’m sure that was probably part of it though and that and the fact that I kept messing with both the incubator temp as well as the room temp at first and moved the incubator several times were probably part of the problem haha

But that said, even after I moved it to a more stable room, got the calibrated thermometer, and stopped messing with it, it did still have hot and cold spots as well as a couple real spikes. Although the one spike was caused by the room temp being turned way up (not by me) so not it’s fault but still.

But I still had a good hatch despite all that so I guess it can’t be too bad of an incubator. :lau

I do still think it wasn’t turning them properly though.

You keep it running all the time!? :th doesn’t that use a lot of electricity?

And oh wow that would suck to lose it!! Makes sense why you back it up then.

It can't be much more energy that leaving your tv on all the time can it?

I don't know, it is a GoodMother (aka Janoel-12). I use it as a hatcher as well, so I just leave it set at the proper temp.
It's the heat bulbs for my brooders that suck up the electric!!!

Kelsey think about this.
Do you know how some people use a regular light bulb or two in their homemade incubators when they make them?

How much can it possible cost to leave 2 lamps on all the time?
