Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
From a discussion I had this morning, you don't even need those. You can use your bare hands.:

I've never done that and don't think I could, however. :sick

Edit: Okay, if I were starving and had no other tools to do the job with, I could.
:lau In my defense, I only did that a few times. I generally use pipe cutters. Does the job cleaner.

Sounds familiar. I was thinking, "I like the idea of emus!" That lasted about 30 seconds. I was a definite "no" when out of curiosity I checked to see how much space they need.
Emus are on my bucket list. Someday, when I have the space, I'll get them.

Mostly kidding before, btw. Don’t worry, I have more self control than that. :D :lau

Though I did see these....

Would they work for offing quailies? :D

Probably shouldn’t be so chipper saying that. :lau šŸ™ˆ:oops:
They'll work awesomely!

Only if I was near starving & then I'm sure most rules of humanity will go right out the window!
I can be like that. I saw some people hatching emu eggs on here. I was like ...oh emu eggs, I think I need to hatch emu eggs... Then I waited a minute and was like what the heck an i thinking! I don't need freaking emus! LMAO! šŸ˜„
Ikr, emus, yay!!!!!
No! Don't do it, it's a trick! My DH would have me committed!
The female will be used to me handling her by the end of the week...:barnie

Is it bad that I didn't notice a problem with her legs?
What are the signs & symptoms? Don't they all have scaly legs?

I think 2026 is the year of EMU hatching....

Also I do want to say.... I really don’t think I need to justify buying a few $1 mugs lol or that it makes me a hoarder...

Especially since this is something I actually do need. Unlike most things I say that about.

But I will agree on the online shopping being a problem and I definitely didn’t need a new phone case or the other mugs :hide

But the cheap ones in the store are not the problem aha

But also even if they were... none of you guys have ever bought anything ā€œunnecessaryā€ or ā€œextraā€ or something you didn’t need or whatever? Not once? Ever?:pop

Don’t worry there’s still quite a few people out there that don’t realise quails can get scaly leg. It’s pretty much just the scales on the legs become raised and sometimes have a yellow crust under them because of the leg mites under them.

Quite a common thing in all poultry really but so easy to treat. Super easy to treat compared to other mites and are less quickly spread too.

A lot of birds can get raised scales when they are moulting though and people worry their birds have scaly leg when they don’t šŸ™‚

Great! Thanks! :D

And the scales are way raised up instead of flat and smooth. Scaly leg mites.

On amazon.......
I put items I'm interested in my cart...... leave them there for a few days...... go back and sort through the items...... some I'll delete, some I'll save for later & fewer yet get purchased. That's one way that helps me not do impulse buying, let it sit for a few days in the cart to see if you reconsider. That might help you with online impulse buying.
